Dont get me wrong, he may have been a sick soab but doesnt change the fact that there are alot worse figures out there atm than a guy who was almost dead anyway.. you just have to look at Africa, difference is they still fund the biggest arms dealer in the world so are left to their own devices

This is what I dont understand. Why take out Saddam, but leave people like Mugabe in power. Mugabe is a 100 times worse than Saddam. I still dont belive the conspiracy theories about oil, but there must be a reason why.

I do still however, think they made the right decision in overthrowing him, but there needs to be some consistency. If the USA is going to act as the worlds police force, then they need to start overthrowing the rest of the world's dictators

Can't recall the last time Bush gased any of his own countrymen tbh.

I can't remember it personally, but it seems to me that there was some war in the sixties in some eastern country named Vietnam, where lots of American soldiers died cause their own troops killed them with chemical attacks.

You might say it wasn't intended, but at least the consequences were accepted, which (imho) is nearly the same.

Putting troops in every dictators country at the same time, may kick off World War, not very wise at all on a global scale.

And if you take a look at Mugabe , and look proper at whats going on, you just know he will cut his own throat, its just a matter of time before his own people turn on him or who ever he hand pics to replace him.

But if you ask me, there as been a crusade against dictators for a while now, but i dont think its been as quick and has clean as they woulds have liked it.

1 thing is certain, is that the dealing with Saddam is a clear message to Dictators all over the world, they will be shitting themselves now, and what you will see is alot of them changing there policies, well, we can only hope. :D

The war in Iraq has probably decreased the odds of the USA removing another dictator with a military strike in the near future. Not only have they not got the possibility with their troops stuck in Afghanistan and Iraq, there also would be little to no support from the US citizens for such a decision. Just look at Ahmadinejad; he can say everything he wants, because he knows the USA can't touch him (although he isn't really a dictator, but the USA dislike him anyway).

Stop reading the Daily Mail.

Mugabe is 100 times worse than Saddam?
On which planet?

One was a brutal dictator who started wars that lead to the death of three quarters of a million in the Iran/Iraq war alone.

The other is a third rate despot that has pissed the english off by not acting like a good little colonial boy.

I'm staying out of the politics A) because its boring B) because none of you are really smart enough for reasoned debate, its just "shout my opinion the loudest til i win".

I will say though that showing the video of his last moments/death was a pretty bad move, yes youve gotta prove it was done, but saddam was way too composed and relaxed. Credit where credit is due, he did an excellent job of defying everyone, especially since he knew he was always going to hang.

Yes, Agent Orange never did harm to anyone and American soldiers are invincible and when they bleed it's just ketchup coming out of their wounds and also they never die...at least that's what Fox News told me.

Then again there is that heretical Wikipedia: Agent Orange

Nikolai Chauchescu was owned in 1989, the US and other world leaders we aint going to take this shite anymore war on terror crusade, started right after the Trade Towers, im talking about Dictators who dont listen to warning, and end up being owned.

I think that sends a message dont you, a message that says, if i carry on doing this crap, and ignore the warning, im going to end up with a similar fate.

The Sun then
or one of the other tabloids that have idiots believing that Mugabe is even in the same league as Saddam.

One has started wars that have resulted in over a million deaths.

The other is a name known only to the average Englishman because he pissed off a load of white farmers with british passports who controlled 70% of the land in Zimbabwe, resulting in the fury of the british tabloids.
A sad little despot with no idea how to manage an economy or country, but hardly in the same league as Sadam, let alone 100 times worse.

hehe yeah
Like Saparmurat Niyazov (recently gone the way of Saddam, but of natural causes) or Islam Karimov.

Your arguement has huge huge flaws.
Dictators who murder their own populace are fine, provided they are useful, the US has proved this time and time again in the middle east, in central/south america and now in many of the former soviet republics.

Think of Islam Karimov, our good old buddy in the war on terror that lets us launch bombing raids on afghanistan from his airbases.
A lovely guy that boils people alive, and when the british ambassador to Uzbekistan pointed this out, he was sacked for telling the truth.
The sacked ambassador said the British were "selling our souls for dross".

The only bad dictator is one that doesn't do what you say.
The rest can murder as much as they want provided they are useful.

Saddam did have WMDs and the US knew it. They got the US arms companies to check their reciepts and there was the proof.

He killed political enemies based on intelligence given to him by the CIA. He gassed anti-government rebels with weapons provided by the west. He invaded Kuwait after the US said it wouldn't get involved in his dispute. He was never going to be tried for half the things he did because too much dirty laundry would have to be revealed in court. There's no way his defence would have passed up the chance to show up the hypocrisy of the US and their double standards.

Still wondering when the US is going to invade Indonesia, or China, or North Korea, or Israel or any one of dozens of countries that are either sponsoring terrorism or terrorising their citizens.

all i have to say about that :)

back then saddam was useful to USA, so they sold all that shit to him. now that he wasent useful anymore he needed to die for the crimes USA helped him commit.

and they aint gonna invade china, because china DO have nukes.
You're preaching to the choir Ctuchik. He did have WMDs at one poit because we sold them to him. The US provided him with biological and chemical agents to help him win the war against Iran in the 80s. Whether he still had any at the time of the second Gulf war was the issue. Evidence says he didn't, our glorious leaders say he did.
