A very bad point.

Lets exhume churchills and roosevehelts (sp) remains and try them in a legal court for killing innocent people eh?

You are probably making a point most of us agree with. I know Saddam was responsible for horrifc crimes against his own people, I just hope we dont lose sight of the "Allies" doing the same thing to the same people :(

Thank You!

The "allies" so to speak just cover up all the killing they do, because its "duty". At the end of the day, they are all as bad as eachother. I dont think its a bad thing that he's dead, but all political leaders are the same in a way, just the media and public put them into different lights. The public dont create a war, Governments do.

Yeah sure he was a dictator, but wait there were no chemical weapons, or nothing. What was he trialed for? There have been more problems since the yanks went into Iraq to be honest, we've taken his life, but his loyalists have taken 10x more of our own soldiers lives.

Its getting to a point where i wonder if it was better to leave him to get on with it and die naturally.

He got sentenced for crimes against Humanity =o

"Two co-defendants, Saddam Hussein's half-brother and a former chief judge, are to be executed at a later date.

All three were sentenced to death by an Iraqi court on 5 November after a year-long trial over the 1982 killings of 148 Shias in the town of Dujail. "

Himse is not defending him. Imo he's making a very valid point which I really agree with.

There was no chemical or nuclear or whatever kind of weapon in Iraq, there was just a lot of murdering going on, nothing more. So what? A few dead people here, a few tortured guys over there, who really cares in todays world? After all we're making lovely trades with China and stuff with Russia is going quite good as well. We get their oil and gas and pay them money to kill people in Chechnya.

Fairness? Up to you to decide...

I agree.

Then again, it's a thought-provoking question that perhaps if Bush wasn't here - the world would be a better place.

Sure but Bush is in a position of immense power and has a lot of relationship to Saddam in regards to current events.

In fact, that kinda fucked up your original point. Why only Saddam when there's alot more evil men in the world?

I do. I don't see what advantage killing him has over life-long imprisonment. If it makes any difference, it'll be a short outburst of violence if anything. Killing him also means that he can't be sued for all his other crimes, nor will there ever (officially) be looked at the bigger picture, since he's only been trialed for a relatively small internal matter.

People everywhere know him for a bad man and for him killing xxxxxx amount of people. Just speak to some experts and try argue with them :) im backing down with my point just i cba to find information when im on daoc.

I need a representive to proceed my point :d

ok. So why aren't the likes of Bush, Blair trialed for killing lots of Iraqi's?

There's rather a large difference between what's happening now and what Saddam did.

As far as I'm aware Bush and Blair haven't actually gassed there own people to move them out of the way (which is what Saddam has been executed for).

Saddam commited genocide on his own people. Bush and Blair made an attempt to remove a dictator which hasnt worked out as they planned.

the world is a worse place without him you only got to look at the death tolls in Iraq.
He hasn't been doing anything rescently which concerns the world and Iraq and the region was in a state of relative stability.
IF he had WMD's there wouldnt have been a "war" like we saw out of fear he would have just launched them all, as it happens he didnt which is probably why the yanks went after him at this point in time.

spot on,
the president of iraq didnt have the balls to step up even at the end, he promoted a deputy to sign for him..
It severed no purpose other than to satisfy the media

He outlived his usefulness to the US
He was a grand man when he was using nerve gas on Iranian civilians and soldiers
So useful infact that the CIA gave him co-ordinates from US spy satelites.
Sadam did most of his killing/murdering when he was a tool of the West.

Would have been fun if he lived long enough to tell his story, I dare say he was smart enough to keep evidence of the US's complicity in his early days of terror, shame we will never see it now.

Kinda like how Islam Karimov is useful now in the "War on Terror" despite being an evil **** that boils people alive.

And who can forget good old Pinochet's forces killing thousands and torturing tens of thousands in their "caravan of death".
That didn't stop Mrs T having tea with him and the British authorities letting him walk away from justice because he was a frail old man, as if he extended the same courtesy to his victims.

He's just another in a long line of evil ***** that can get away with mass murder as long as they do what the West says.

saddam should have been removed when they had the chance in the first war, but no, george bush sr, rather wanted to be friends with him, and tbh george bush should be on trial aswell. The amrican goverment was the ones that gave a semi go ahead 4 saddams soldiers to slaughter the rebellions, witch where told by the US that they would be protected from saddams troops.

and now his son is doing the dirty work and now its been cleaned up with no real evidence left, and shit loads of money 4 the bush family and friends... yay, go go free world sure rox!

og ja fogh skulle ha en god gammel dags gang tæsk i et par uger ^^
