Hi gang - I built a new rig a couple of months ago and at the time copied all the files from my local drive where I keep stuff onto the new build. I didn't get round to using the new box in anger so the local files will now differ from those on the new box. I have the drives mapped in explorer etc, but is there a smarter file copying utility out there which run run a comparison and only copy over the newer files from the local drive? I'm copying over a 100Mb LAN connection so without a smarter tool it could take a couple of days!

Thanks for any suggestions or help!

Well firstly, why the fuck are you still on 100Mb.

Secondly, I can't help much as I avoid keeping the majority of important stuff I would need to copy on my PC this use little more than copy/paste.

For windows I use robocopy, it is now part of windows. Excellent tool with lots of options for different copy criteria.

As you use 100Mb LAN you will have to throw out your 5 1/4 harddrive as they are shit now.

Fucking hell. Go look at GSRichCopy (not free but I did purchase a copy), it has a GUI.
