I was going to say that it looks like the place just past Loch Awe where you turn right instead of carrying on left to Oban.
I love that whole corner of Scotland. It partly reminds me of home, and partly because I know I'm going to be at my folks soon.

One to watch when it's on box office I think.

i liked it, though the bad guy sounded a bit like one of the little britain characters at times

I really enjoyed it, lots of nods to classic Bond films, a bit more humour than the last two whilst still being dark. Some silly moments where you really have to force yourself not to notice the massive plot holes, great bad guy, really good action.

I loved the bit with the gear lever, although they didn't need to reference it in their dialogue. Anyone who's anyone knows that car's best feature.

A million times better than daniel craigs first two attempts at being bond. Javier Bardem was brilliant as ever, cinematography was superb, and a good mix of classic bond cheese and flashiness. Really enjoyed it.

Only complaint i have is that the new Q is a right nob.

Saw it yesterday and while it was quite ok to watch, I think it would have benefited from being split into two separate films.

Not because of the length (2:24), but because the first half was so vastly different tempo wise from the second half and it created a dissonance in the film as a whole. Also, each part could have benefitted from additional scenes to fill some very glaring holes - now you were left having to assume a lot. As for the new Q, I don't mind him, and I quite liked the new M as well.

I'm curious, to what do you refer with the "assume" amigo?

Hmmm, yes, it all seemed to tie up at the end, even putting in place certain characters that have always been part of the Bond storyline (which i thought was a nice touch tbh)

Except:
If you think it through, it makes no sense at all. Who owned the original Aston Martin?

he won the DB5 in the poker game in Casino Royale from the bleeding eye man, although i understand what you are saying, as Craigs Bond is supposed to be a reboot, but they still had Judi Dench as M, when she was Brosnans M too

I think the whole thing has been done to actually achieve the Reboot. I don't think Casino Royale was it in terms of story tbh. Now it's a done deal.

winning a DB5 is one thing, winning a DB5 with ejector seats and rocket launchers is another

It makes alot more sense..the entire series really. If you think of it as 007/James Bond IS the code name, being passed on between agents as they come n go.

It was a lot like the older Bonds in that it had some extreme cheese in it, over all it was pretty good and definitely worth seeing in the cinema (despite a ticket being £9,000 these days)

I was talking to the staff in a tiny local cinema (2 screens, maybe 200 seats) they were expecting maybe 1500 on the opening saturday.

4000 people. So every screening was completely sold out, also the Sunday they put on two extra screenings, another 4800 people. The extra screenings sold out within an hour of going up.
People arrived on the door "incase people didn't turn up".

How did he survive the shot and the fall in the start of the film? Suddenly he was just alive somewhere drinking himself silly at some beach. How did he get there? That was a big gap of info that I missed.

The scene where he wrestled with the goon in the icy lake, swam down to the bottom to pick up the flaregun, fire the flaregun, and then swim up all the way and somehow get out of the hole in the ice (which is nigh impossible unless you have spikes) and then somehow manage to arrive at the chapel without even being slightly cold? Assuming he'd even be able to get out of the water like that, which he shouldn't unless Bond is a superhero, he should at least have looked a little cold?

Now we were left to assume that he's a superhero in both these cases. I like my Bond to get out of situations using wits and reasonable physical skill.. not superhero powers. :)

The ice one I'll grant you, that did get a bit thin. The train though can easily be explained, my memory is that Money-Penny hit him in the shoulder, so it wasn't a fatal shot and the rest is just a simple passage of time they can't be bothered to explain gap.

Heehee, would've been hilarious if Gandalf was shown banging women and drinking himself silly on the beach, after taking the dive with the Balrog. Would be a bit hard to tell he hadn't shaved for a while, of course. :)

I didn't actually think of that, I was referring to aragorn during the battle with the wargs where everyone thinks he is dead after
