£299 for the box and £10 a month, you can goto www.sky.com/hd and download some clips, looks pretty impressive tbh
the clips are in the More To Explore bit

Tom said:They have subsidised the costs though. Most live footy matches on Sky have been in HD for over a year - they just haven't transmitted them.
The matches are subcontracted to outside broadcast facility companies, who have all recently upgraded their trucks and facilities to HD - thats a massive cost, millions per truck. These companies will be charging Sky a lot more for this, so its a bit of a gamble for Sky.
HD documentaries and the like are similarly more expensive. For a freelancer to upgrade his camera and lenses you're talking at least £50000, so their rates are going to rise accordingly.
All this before Sky even have subscribers.

Compared to the investment Sky made years ago (before they had any subscribers) its peanuts.Tom said:All this before Sky even have subscribers.

Merged. I'm pretty sure I'm going to get a impending redundancy notification next week, all the signs are there.DaGaffer said:Well now they're merging (merged?) with Telewest, it'll be the TV Drive system. Problem is it will be entirely dependent on how good/shit your particular bit of the NTL network is. In my area NTL broadband doesn't even work, never mind HD.
Dont be so pessimistic: Ive been expecting the same for the last 4 years or soWill said:Merged. I'm pretty sure I'm going to get a impending redundancy notification next week, all the signs are there.
