Sounds like you've had as much success as I've had with eBuyer, 26 days later they sent me a new motherboard which was even deader than the last pice of crap they sent me. Another two weeks later and I swear they sent me back the motherbaord they gave me the first time around! oh well refund time :/

but seriously - most online retailers are crap, with lower running costs than retail enterprises they feel that the only image they have to maintain is that of a clean website, and employ 14 year old refugees as packers and RMA monkeys...

as to you SK, I'm amazed you've been so mild mannered about this, if it took me five and a half weeks to build a PC which is really a 20 minute job one you have all the pieces in one place, I'd go f*cking ballistic...

Some online companies do go out of their way to help. I say some, in my experience the best have been Insight : Their prices are higher then most, but the service has always been good, at least for me : the techies talk technical, the customer service women even know how to turn a PC on, and the RMA service is quicker then a man taking a shit in George Michael's neighbourhood.

Ebuyer have been my worst experience : in one order of around 30 PC parts, ~ 20 where fucked. Scanner with the faceplate smashed (not delivery, bearing in mind the packaging and the top cover protecting it), printer with a broken front (only a cheap shitto Epson (who are *shite* now), a HDD that did fuck all except make dodgy noises, a case with 3 nackered LED's and a VERY loud PSU fan, the motherboard didn't come with the IDE cables it should have done, or FDD cable come to think of it, the CDRW didnt read, write or re-write, the ram didn't remember anything and a load of other stuff i really cant be arsed to remember.

Perhaps I was unlucky, or more than likely, some 12 year old retard on work experience (or skiving from his paper round) found the "Fucked Parts" shelve and emptied the contents into my parcel. Their RMA procedure is bullshit, the staff are all wankers and know rather less about PC's then your average PC World salesperson, and the phone support staff : the person i spoke to first regarding the faulty batch of kit : after a lengthy hold time : <mrs ebuyer> Hello. <Kryt> 'lo, i've a batch of shite sto....... etc" <mrs ebuyer> ok, where did you buy them from?

I dont need to go any further. Ebuyer are quite possibly the worst online retailer i have EVER used and haven't used them since.

After my expeiences I'm inclined to agree with you there Kryt, they are indeed shit. The worst part is they force you to use there stpid system of eNotes which only let you send three messages at a time and when you've got as many complaints with the service as I have that's rather constricting! Oh well got my kit from OcUK in the end, worked out £5.00 cheaper and it turned up WORKING the next day, what a shocker :p
