also, I biked home with the hottest girl in class today, which is not hard given there are only 4 and she's the only one who lives in my town, only to learn that she's in a single sex couple and her self image is that of a homely nun.

which is ok ofc, being a lesbian myself. I'm just not religious :/

Or you would be made of sex, if you'd chosen a course that wasn't IT...

Didn't the "only 4 lesbians and ZERO hetrosexuals" thang give you a clue?

Straight wimminz fucking HATE computers. Unfortunately :(

We're not made of sex, we're an ugly bi-product of sex, like the residue left after an explosion. Yucky, unwanted nonsense.

remember two things that are very important when at college...

(1) No matter what you do at college, it gives you the ideas that you are better than everyone else... and that you deserve a €50,000 job just because you god damn earned it sitting on your ass doing nothing

(2) everyone else in the whole wide world is having more fun than you :p

Lol Insane! Now I know where you get your name :)

I don't think it's possible to have more fun than you have at Uni. Well, not without several million at your immediate and consequenceless disposal...

Uni doesn't equal fun, it's the age you're at when you go to uni. Even if you don't, you'll generally find it's the 'fun' time of life. I had two years out working instead of going straight to uni, and that meant I had a full wage, no outgoings as I was still at home and lots of free time, all during a period where things were actually still affordable.

Nevertheless that led to a lot of socialising. :) Much more so than went on at uni, but that's probably because at my uni most people were total ***** (nearly everyone was an upper-middle class posh retard going straight from college not because they wanted to, but because "it's what you do"), especially the people on my courses. Only half a dozen or so people were remotely genuine and nice and they're the ones I have contact with. That, and the fact I actually went to uni to try and learn and better myself.

Of course the world imploded as I left university, meaning I have a first class degree and can't get an interview. GG timing!

woo well here's my weekly update:
-I can now program a robot to find it's way through a maze using Java
-I can now program a PLC using logic trees
-I can analyze your organisation and write a paper about it
-my social life has drained away to nothing

I had loads of fun as a working teenager, then loads more fun as an early 20s university student. Maybe your experience was different because you're a miserable curmudgeonly ****? Just a thought.

I enjoyed my uni time, but the uni experience itself does not automatically lend itself to having a great time, my point was it's more the age you're at rather than what you're doing.

been a while but here is an update from meh:

I'm alternating between either feeling I am hopelessly behind and feeling well on top of things....which is strange.
I still haven't managed to find a decent way to combine work and study: study has the priority as far as I am concerned, but telling people I don't have time for them at work pisses me off. I need to chill out about that, because workies is part of the reason I am doing this in the first place, but I dislike telling people to fuck off (which is weird, considering)

really on the school front I am done with one of the courses (the robot thing) which has been turned in, leaving only the touchy-feely reflection report to get done, which is mainly a description of how I felt during the lessons, how I experienced them, and how I realized I can translate these sensations into real world use (I suppose). Time to put on my sky blue spaghetti strap top and visit India for a henna tattoo I guess.

the orgsci course has an exam for me on Thursday, and I am slightly bricking it because atm I feel as if I know nothing, and I also have to still do a paper and the reflection shit for that as well. still not too sure how I feel about this course: it's much more me than all the programming stuffs, and this is forcing me to look at myself and the organisation I work in in a more grown-up fashion. bahs.

oh yeah, and if anyone else tells me I have to study smarter, not harder, I will KILL them. It seems to be the universal cure all for any and everything: I'm working hella hard and have just bought a house, making me so stressed that I have a hard time motivating myself to write three reflection reports....answer: you have to study smarter, not harder! I just lost a leg to gangrene and have trouble crawling to school on time...you have to study smarter, not harder! shark-cats killed my banana plant and ate my homework....if you studied smarter, not harder this would never have happened! *KILL*

the house bit is true btw. I signed my purchasing agreement yesterday! mmmkay, back to work :)

Reflection reports? WTF? Do you then have to reflect on the reflection report? Sounds like touchy-feely crap so the lecturers can justify their own existence to me.

yeah Gaff you and me both think that. still, without them I get no points, so that sucks. I am seriously considering messing with the reports, you know, incorporate my pastafarian-jedi religion and stuffs.
