Skald on Camlann?

Recently been playing one of these in Thidranki on Mid/Exc and i was wondering how they did in terms of grouping/soloing/etc on Camlann. Because Excal is so overcrowded, and Pvp is so much better than Excal i figured i'd roll one here if it's not overgimped .

I love my skald But she is level 28, with an mp sword, and has buffbot buffs 24/7 and can basically 2 shot greens.

And yes they are great at solo'ing or grouping (speed + dmg add)

skalds are uber imo, i love em, and u can imagine how they are in camlann, 3 of the more or less 13-15 RR10s that atm are in camlann are Skalds

I had a lvl 35 skald fully done up..it rocked but then ..recently I rolled a thane ..troll hammer spec fully sc..I one shot yellow con casters if bt is down and I have lost ANY tank battles / duels or jumps to anything orange con or bellow..the hammer damge with a troll is sick and with my fully scd mp and aug stren 1 con 1 quick 1 dex 1 I just cant believe they arent fotm on camlann ..or are they ?

Skald is great There are ofc always 'better' classes, that you cannot beat 1on1. but goes for anyone.

Just a reminder: A skald is more uber at lower levels than higher lvls (shield spec, special abilities, pets, evade.. gets better the higher lvl).

i loved my dwarf skald, it was absolutly amazing. there was no situation she wasnt comfortable in. snare, mezz, dd's, chants and ofc weapons. even using 1h with shield was decent. ur healers got agro, dd dd smack, uve got agro back quicker than any1 else. or in pvp someones on ur healer, snare them so ur healer can run, or even mezz so he cant move and then leave him for a few secs while u kill the others then go back to him etc, its a great class

Everything with instant magic attacks rock at lower lvls, nobody got resists, its a whole other story at 50, toad etc...

my thane can stomp a bd or my shadow blade but I loved my runemaster and firewizz..often one shotted yellows once bt was down ..

ah yes ..the throwing knives to down bt in spraggon den with the shadowblade was.....bollocks..

BD isnt that evil for skald at lower lvls tbh.. ofc they are nastier than others cause of lifedrainhej but just mezz the healer pet then smack em down

Skald is a really funny class and are also decent solo / grp :>

Got 2 x 50 skalds at prydwen (wtf) and a skald on camlann which while im writing is 31 xDDDDD

Yeh I noticed now my skald is 29, that I can't kill BDs anymore.. if they have more then one healer pet. I usually just mezz the healer pet and smack the BD down with my sword. Now I just hope that SoS is ready and run away.

imo its not the healer pet that helps them the most its the insta lifetap without that they'd be crap 1on1

Imo most skalds are evil all the way, since they can kill almost anything at lower lvls and they're still pwning casters at high lvls, because of their annoying insta stuff (mezz, snare, dds) so yeah it's a great class on camlann for soloing, but they aint that crazy in grps. You got to have a bb for soloing though, but then again nearly all classes need that. According to the Thane thing, then they used to be evil, but since last patch they're not that good anymore, especially if you go for shield spec (Chuuck- ) 2h is still rather nice except if the enemys got pbt, then it's kinda useless just like a 2h skald...Pbt chars are getting rare at camlann though, so it's probably still worth making 2h chars, I'd go for the 2h skald myself...

you'd have to be drunk to make a shield skald cause afaik they cant spec shield and can only use a small one

I got reasonably owned yesterday for the first time with my thane ...

He is lvl 29 and has stomped all round him ..one hitting casters with using the insts and crushing tanks ..until yesterday ...

a skald ..yellow con fought me ..one on one ..his damage output matched mine but for some reason I was playing the swing n da miss game ..anyways ...we were both on say 25placente hp and he whips out the shield ( plus whatever bonus stats it might have had ..crush resist mebbe etc ) and a one handed hammer ( he was hammer spec ) and he mashed the shite out of me ..hitting for nearly the same damage as the LW 0o..

might be shit to use a shield but yesterday ..i fell pretty bad cause of that shield.

go runecarving until ure high level with good dex then respec to dark ..and put that one point in supresion for bt...

3) target anyone regardless of con and twist numbers 1 through to 10. the new ability means they dont have a recast timer so they can get 10 instants off. not many ppl know that but its true.

i got that from the BD Representative at goa
