So they're angry at Channel 4 for showing a documentary about a porn star, and they want to take it to task because children could lie about their age and sign up for a channel 4 online account (you must be 16) and watch said documentary.

They also want to ban the type of porn she makes, which is, of course, legal and consentual.

Fucking nanny state, do they not realise that the internet is everywhere? If a child wants to watch porn they are not gonna be sitting in front of a broadcast program, they will be on their phone, laptop or pc.

4 more years of this shit.... the most stupid part of this is the people in charge of this whole thing are clearly people who don't know how technology works, they just think magic box switch needs flicking to make all censorship go brrrrr, absolute fucking cabbage patch kids.

On a plus side most things (not everthing) they can't do overnight, some of it will need to go through supreme court, which can take months to years

I'd also bet, most of the cunts pushing this shit do the most heinous sexual things behind closed doors as well

The government know exactly what they are doing. They're using "think of the children" like they did last time they were in.

Anyway. You both support Jimmy Savile.

Good on you, IMO :)

I was miffed that you ignored the personal. Your equating of Farage with Savile is over the top though.

I vote Green, but locally I'm kind of annoyed at the local Labour party and how they have councillors in there who've been in power for getting on 40 years.

Forty fucking years. Councillors shouldn't be allowed to be in position that long, they're old, tired, have no new ideas and are surely just doing it because they get to play with a train set and nobody can join them.

Joking aside - Exactly, they're using the act as a weapon, the true intent is protecting their own scummy hides from criticism.

Fairly sure Discord has verified ages for quite a while now.

Although I think they initially did it based on the age of your discord account - mine is 10 years old so I suspect they made a reasonable judgement that 7 year olds weren't making discord accounts in 2015.

This is what the "online safety" act means for all of us:

Eh? All it shows is Americans are cavalier with personal data and security. I'd never heard of this App until I read that article, which isn't surprising as it would be wildly illegal under GDPR in Europe.

It's relevant because what it shows is, regardless of legal safeguards (including GDPR), companies are shysters and if we pony up ID then we're gonna get stung.
