Hi, seems like a lot of people have no clue about which siege equipment to use where, so here's a short overview:

trebuches > wall pieces

- treb on a tower next to a central keep to blast a hole in it
- field treb to blast a hole in a keep or destroy a tower (makes hookpoints unavailable, oil etc)

catapults > people

-greek fire / ice balls for strong damage, stone shot for large radius medium damage

palintones / ballistas > siege equipment

- field ballista is nice to kill palintones on towers/keeps with, or destroy oil pots
- palintone on a tower/keep is nice to destroy any kind of siege equipment

rams > gates (duh)

- can combine up to 3 rams to one big one

sooo,, next time you wanna put some omglolzbigasstrebuchet down, do it where its supposed to be done, and not like i've seen earlier today:

on a tower to try and destroy a trebuchet punching a hole in the keep (use a palintone instead.), or

put a trebuchet on a tower MILES off anything remotely close to a keep or other tower

It's also worth mentioning that all non-hook point siege weapons can be moved. Albeit rather slowly, but Rams like boats do move faster with more people in them. This means that the War Ram which requires 3 Seige Rams to construct can be used at a Tower and at the Keep. Another thing about Rams is you take less damage from oil if you are inside one.

Also the Diminutive Siege Apparatus craft recipes require a skill of 800+ to craft, but not to deploy. You only need 1 in Seige Craft to use the deploy recipe. If like me you want to carry around a War Ram, you will need to use the Diminutive recipe in order to carry 3 Siege Rams.

Yeah 800 in Fletching, AC, WC, Tailor, SpellCraft, or Alch. But you can get someone to make one for you, you only need 1 in SeigeCraft to deploy the Diminutive Siege Weapon and it weighs a lot less than it's ingredients.

Being a high alchy I tried out those diminutive siege things a bit today, and the weight reduction is really great - from 176 down to 76 for a siege ram, so carrying 3 of those shouldn't be a problem for most tanks - tbh, with only a weight of 76 almost everybody should be carrying a ram when running out into the frontiers.
The only problem is getting them, so as a first step to make the use of these diminutive siege items more common i started putting a handfull of siege rams onto our guild-CM ( house 3481) for (close to) cost price.
Hopefully more crafters will start spreading these, because i never want to see another keeptakes with only tanks hitting the doors.

How about you stop making illiterate asinine posts on these boards and spend the time you spent making your lame posts on actually checking the ingame manual and then letting the slow clogs that power your brain fathom that this information is not in the manual.
