SI Crashing @ charecer select :(

anyone else having this problem?

loads to the select screen np's my char bows to me or howls in victory etc I click play and it crashes to the desktop

Classic daoc works fine as ever just SI

Downloaded direct x 9?a friend had to and it worked had similar touble....give it a go.

Installed DX9 and I got as far as the point where I should enter the game world, then I crashed :/

running on a 1.2 athlon
geforce 2 64 mb
with 511 RAM

anyone running SI on a similar spec or lesser spec?

well gonna try reinstall on SI then try a few different gfx card drivers maybe that will help

Well it is a display function could be an nvidia driver you need it could even well be the desktop settings not at 32 bit colour,definetly is something to do with your display though my guess is the drivers not much else really it could be.

You tried asking right now?

i had the same problem when i first started daoc it is almost certainly something to do with graphics card drivers.

ok ive been using the 10.70 det drivers for a very long time and never had cause to update them, when i did try to update i got a horrible loss of performance (presumably because the latter drivers are aimed at the gf3/4 cards)

so another question, anyone using a geforce 2 card recomend a det driver version thats stable and reliable) (dont really want to install the next 50 driver versions and trial and error)

i hade same probs with SI installed 21.85 drivers and now it works for me.

tried lots of drivers today some run SI but arnt stable currently using 42.01 and they seem by far the most stable /cheer

p.s my savage is now lvl 4
