Stupid fucking comment, won't say anything more apart from I expected better.

I'm just keeping the tone of thread going. My comment was inflammatory on purpose.

Unless you think death wishes and hate are signs of high intelligence?

Short answer NO.

Too divisive and probably hated by more people than liked and she was certainly not loved.

As for that stupid comment about Diana.......:twak:

If anyone should have had a state funeral she should have had one. Clearly the entire country was moved by her death and 1million+ people lining the streets was a clear sign of the affection that people had for her, let alone the 2.5 billion people that watched it on tv world wide. However, her familly (The Spencers) did not want one.

No the entire country wad not moved. How are you ever going to quantify that, poll all 6 billion?

Naa she shouldn't of had one, it was more of a cult than anything else.

Well to be completely honest, if you let some famous stranger to actually affect your life, you're a bit out of any discussion bashing reality tv or other mass media thing. You sheep you :p

They seriously need to clone her and reinstate her into power, and KEEP her there :)

ppl can say what they want about her, but when she wanted something to happen, it happened.

Totally agree - don't have to agree with her politics to be in awe of a ball-buster.

Yes from me.

Not seeing any cohesive arguments TO give her a state funeral.

Personally I don't think there's any need to give her a state funeral. I don't hate her, I don't like her. She's not a national hero, done nothing of awesomeness for future generations and I can't think off the top of my head of any great (positive) legacy she leaves behind.

Most of the views posted on this thread seem 'second-hand' to me ie handed down by others rather than being informed and insightful. Even amongst the more accomplished FH debaters all I'm seeing is venom and spittle.

more accomplished

and

FH debaters

Ahaha, haha, hihi, hoo.

I do love a good joke :D

The ney sayers have no point as they wouldn't be paying it(No you'll still be paying those taxes none the less and tv would bring a lot of moneyz back) and the yei-sayers have no point 'cause no one deserves a fancy funeral(cause they're not enjoying it now ARE they?).

I'll rise to that challenge. She made some very tough decisions through the 80's where others wouldn't have the courage or conviction to follow through. Britain at the time was mired in union politics and we were fast becoming outdated as protectorate on the primary and secondary industries that as public industries as many were, were bleeding cash. She slaughtered them to make way for tertiary and quaternary enterprise which the UK badly needed.

The late 80's and early 90's were good building blocks for a nation (or set of nations) to go forward from. As a crumbling empire we needed some bad-ass restructuring and she did it. Questions were asked and she answered them. And quite frankly the public must have agreed with her to allow John Major, the spineless fuckwit that he was, to win healthily at the next election on the back of her leadership when she stepped down.

Cameron rightly stated that the UK has been punching above its weight (and I hate that man too) and that's part of the legacy she left behind - she allowed that to happen through policy. The Queen has spoken about her respect for her, and HM has had her right old troubles with her faily twatting about and if she thinks she's alright then fair play.
