Bah, I saw the thread title and expected either shit loads of spirits/shots or photos of sex with a midget. Damn.

Feel for you though bud - we've all had a missus who has done it (and embarrassingly done it myself when knacekered once or twice - spirit is willing but body will not comply :()

cannot understand this!!

If I've had enough and need to go home I just trott back to HQ (fold my laundry) and go to bed without insisting everyone else babysits me...ok I have asked my friend laura to escourt me to my bed once because the floor was not cooperating with my feet but to be fair her and her husband were both equally as pissed as me and were on way home anyway!

In these cases, you either shove the bird in a cab and send her home or take her home and head back out.

I think i've left a night short only on two occasions; if i want to(bored or some such) or after a three day festival when the hangover is way too much :p

That beats my friday night Everz..

Had a great evening with the gf. Chatting, laughing, nice dinner and a lot of good wine. We got a bit frisky and decided to move it into bed. I think she fell asleep before her head hit the pillow. After an hour and a half or dirty talk and "I'll do this and that to you when we get in there" she falls asleep. I got up way early saturday cause I had to go to work, but when I got home she had left me a note

"I owe you one!

<3"

I saved that piece of paper for a rainy day :flame:

Care to elaborate? Or are you so whippeed that you're afraid to say anything else on the amtter incase your girl is watching?

If you want to have a night out, and someone passes out at the start, you either send 'em home, take 'em home and then continue as planned.

One person, no matter who the f*ck it is, shouldn't be the ruin of a whole night and they shouldn't be so selfish to think they are.

I wouldnt personally leave my gf and go back out if she was in a bad state, for whatever reason self inflicted or not

I think its pretty obvious what I meant, so really I don't care to elaborate.

What person would leave their missus when shes in a state to go out on the lash? Some form of scum if you did so.

Then shut up in the first place.

Someone who knows they can.

It's not like she's dying, she's drunk for f*cks sake. You watch your missus every time she has a drink, JUST incase she gets *gasp* drunk?

You don't ofcourse let her go out on her own either?

EDIT: let me elaborate - if you don't want to do so, then don't, but don't go judging others.

Drunk before we even hit town, i'd be a bit of a twat just to drop her off back at mine and be on my one and off out no?

Must be some form of a selfish **** to not help someone out if there totally smashed, regardless if its self-inflicted or not.

Again, no, that's you. You sit there holding her hand all night (or did you by any chance drop her to bed and do your own thing around the house?), doesn't mean everyone else in the world must do the same or they're some form of scum.

Nobody is saying you should not help them, make sure they get home, go otu and have fun.

It's no different from one of you going out for drinks without the other.

And how is it any different on what EQ said? She gets it.

This may come as a shock; but before you trotted along, your gf went out and got pissed, got home by themselves and passed out for the night.

They are not 5 year olds.

Not to mention that if you're out with two friends, you all are getting pissed and you notice that both of your friends(who live at different places) are getting wasted. How do you intend to keep an eye on both?

Or how about this scenario; you're at a party, about 10 peeps, ONE person passes out on the couch. You all stay home for the whole night because it's a nono otherwise? Or is it possible that you all go out, have fun and like usual, trust that the one who had too much is fine behind locked doors, laying on a couch/bed?

Everz's gf was unable to stand on her own legs. I know my gf has been drunk before she met me, but I'd never leave her if she got sick and was unable to take care of herself.

I know my friends' limits when it comes to alcohol and I can tell when they've had too much and when they can take care of themselves, and as you say, they are not 5 year olds. Most know their own limits aswell and I can't remember the last time one of them passed out from drinking.

And if at a party and one guy passes out, then one guy stays behind and takes care of said person.

It's not rocket science

Yeah it's not. People get drunk and pass out all the time, they don't need a nurse.

You can stay behind and watch over people, like i said, but it's not being a selfish dick, a ****, or scum if you do go out.

If you know they can handle themselves(what with being passed out and sleeping it off), then there's no judgement needed for you to go out.

I wouldn't be so selfish to expect people to sit by my side and pat my head if i pass out.

Looking after a drunk mate and your drunk partner are different things, i'll always be there for my partner if she cant look after herself. They will be alot more grateful in the morning for your help than if you just ditch them. She will just secretly think your a bit of a knob for that

Don't make it sound like i leave them on the street.

If they're inside, on a bed/couch, then no, there's no need for me to sit there all night. We have a laugh about it the next day, how someone can't hold their drink, but that's about it.

Depends on the person and like i said, it's your call. I'm not judging anyone if they want to stay behind, more power to them, but i'm not gonna rip them a new one if they don't.

Carried her back as she could barely stand up right, settled her down after she started bawling for a good while then went to hang out with mates in main room, your indicating to just leave her.

I go out 3-4 times a week without her anyways, saturdays is her night so again, no point me going out afterwards.

I didn't say leave her in a ditch now did i?

And again, did i say you couldnt take care of her? No, just that you shouldn't jump to judging conclusions because you do.

Think you should listen to your own advice, which by the way is as useful as a chocolate fucking teapot.

Leaving anyone (even if it was one of my male friends) while wasted and unable to look after themselves is a no go. But I think you know that and just say these stupid fucking things to cause controversy.

Oh whoopdidoo, that old chestnut comes out.

But it's great that all you people sit around, holding hands, watching every breath of everyone of your friends who pass out.

Pssh.

LEt's put it like this; if you knew, full well, without a doubt, that your friend/mate was fully ok with being left passed out(in a safe place as i said to begin with) and they were absolutely fine(as they always had been), would you still force yourself as a caretaker or would you go out(if you so wanted) and have fun as your friend/mate would want to?

No if's and buts, no "but my friend is not", just the question i stated as is.
