electrics arent too good imho.

Wet shaving is the better option. Have you tried the new Mach3 shavers. Absolutely excellent.

lol

MACH 3

just download the MACH 2 -> 3 patch... why pay for a new version....

Hmm if only razors where as simple as MP gaming...

Grow a beard or alternatively have designer stubble, very 80's but hey the 70's were in fashion a few months ago so maybe there's hope.

I hate those ingrowing hairs, a real sign of shaving against the grain. I always shave down the face now when I wet shave and the occurence of those things has reduced dramatically.

My Electric shaver seems to have been snatched by my youngun, not that you can tell when he's finished. I kinda dont use it much on account of his spots, the thought of the puss whirling through the fine mesh really kills that idea for me.

are Philishave any good?.

I notice that they have 3 round Heads, while the braun have one long strip. (only asking because I need one for when I go on holiday)

I find the foil (Braun) to be a lot less abrasive than the rotary cutters (Philishave).

I will always rate a mach 3 - gives a good shave and are so useful for other body parts.

Bodhi speaketh the truth, I use a Philishave beard trimming thing where you rotate the head to adjust the grade and it's fantastic. Twenty five quid, I think. :)

hmmm

i do all the right stuff shaving wise..

-wash with super-hot water to open the pores
-exfoliate, again hot water, keeping pores open
-lube up with king of shaves shaving oil & gel (or nivea gel)
-shave following the grain, gently & slowly, with a couple of short strokes per patch before thoroughly rinsing the razor.
(new razor blade every other shave...)
-pluck remaining ingrown hairs with super-sharp tweezerman needle tweezers which don't even cut the skin...
-wash face once again with hot water, removing all dirt & hairs...
-wash face with ice cold water to close the pores
-apply moisterising aftershave balm (alcohol free)
-wash face again before bed & apply moisterising lotion...

i use wilkinson sword - diamond FX blades, which for someone with sensitive skin are better than mach 3 blades - less metal the better
nivea or king of shaves oils, gels, face washes, moisterisers, etc...

and still find it impossible to shave until a couple of days after the last shave...
don't get me wrong... it's a million times better than what it used to be like for me (shave once a month lol) but still...

i've tried all sorts of electric shavers... foil types... rotary heads... cheap ones... expensive ones... (£180 tops, though i had that free with mum's commission off catalogue)

electric shavers are poo in comparison to blades... you can even cut yourself with them... electric shaver gave me the nastiest cut ever when i was shaving my balls actually - always shave your balls with a proper razor... the skin is so elastic it's almost impossible to cut yourself.

anyway i'm sure i had a point... i might have made it already, can't remember.. that is all.

no

i'm saying i shave at some point in mid-morning, and then WASH and moisterise before bed.

you're not supposed to shave soon after getting up, don't ask me why, don't know

Shaving is easy tbh.

  • Apply shaving foam
  • Shave, often doing entire side of face before rinsing razor.
  • Wipe excess foam off with towel.
  • Apply after-shave

See? I've only ever had one shaving rash - and that was because of a 3 month old Sensor Excel blade - rarely cut myself and still end up with lovely and soft skin.
