Need somekind of insta CC, today completely lost in mid frontier, I got chased for ages by blue cons who'd surely beat the hell outa me cos I can hit for toffee either. Before ya say it 14 points for Ichor just isnt worth it for me, they really need something else. Anyone else finding this problem in melee only without dot's ?

I am a powerlevlled n00b who doesn't appreciate the fact that my characters can't own everything in site.

Now, one day I was out in the frontiers on my own when a group, that's right, a group of enemy players came along and tried to attack me! That's right me!!!

Now perhaps you should give me some kind of uber skill because I know for a fact groups of players shouldn't be able to kill a single player.

For I am PUDZY!!! A buffed up n00b!!!

If you did have a high IQ yourself you'd realise you're a support class. Not an o\/\/nz0r machine you think you should be...

first, pudzys shaman isn't aug specced (i know cause he always refuses to buff me)

second hes saying that shamans need a more offensive punch in combat without their DoTs (which take about 2 secs to cast), unlike healers who have insta mezs and stuns (and insta heals).

oh, and shamans rule!

It's amusing as a Cleric to read about shamans needing offensive power's or more punch except their DoT's (that are quite good actually).

I Doesn't know all about the life of a shaman in midgård , but isn't they supposed to be primarily healers/buffers?
I think shamans looks alot like the clerics (the smite ones) with a good offense (DoT's) and buffs and heals.
Wow, the Do't take s 2 secs to cast. lol specced Smites take 4s to cast, base smite is 3 sec. (nerf shamans DoT! j/k)

Anyway. Alot of Clerics respecced to mainly be healers/buffers and it is a great feeling to be able to play them as that. In that respect I love the smite nerf, as should all the other albs.
My tip to the shamans is to embrace the fact that you are a support class, and play it that way 100%. It will increase your groups success in RvR, and therefore your own.

err Root Unspecced, AE Root & Instant Disease (w/Snare Component) from Subterranean line

and No matter how they spec, they can spend those 14 points to get an Instant AOE Root with added damage.

Clerics hurt more for CC, especially if heal/enhance specced, root can stop an enemy for a long time, stun cant if you want to get on with healing. Instacast Mez lasts like 4 seconds every 5 mins

1) maybe he did ask for a bit too much, but official class descriptions call the shaman the offensive healer-class and , compared to other support classes the shaman doesnt stand a chance in 1-1 let aside x-1 fights. I was talking about Ardrias (the basement man) which you started flaming for no reason.

Instas? Nah, we're the 'over time' class. Not that I'd mind them moving ichor to the Cave line, mind you.

Bring a map and don't go alone are pretty much your only options. If you're forced to go alone for whatever reason then you don't stand much chance at all - but that's how it is for most classes, particularly those of us without speed.

Next patch we get an end regen buff (I'm sure you're well aware) which means we can sprint away for longer. Great, eh? Well, ok, it's not much, but it's.. something. Just hope the people chasing you don't have some vastly superior form of speed.
