Shadowblades vs Slash Infiltrators

Would like to discuss how other Shadowblades do vs Slash Infiltrators such as Arauddry?

NB: This is not a nerf slash inf thread. I am trying to determine the best way to spec my SB for fighting these guys. Currently im hitting these guys for 130-150 hand without crits while they seem to be hitting me back for 230-300 main hand. They do have 10% from relics and 10% vs my armour atm though so I do expect them to be hitting harder, but not almost 100% harder.

I am currently rr5, playing without TOA items and specced 39 Axe 39 LA 34 CS 34 Stealth 32 Env. I cap all resists including 26% item and 3% racial resist to slash. I have a 47 aug spec shaman with MOA 3 and 25% TOA buff bonus (overkill I know, givf RA respec!). My weaponskill is exactly 1400 when fully buffed.

Please discuss and provide specs. Opinions from slash infs are also very welcome.

if you want a spec:

(full autotraining)
50 Weapon
50 LA
35 Envenom (Str debuff, Str/Con debuff ... it actually works against slash-fils)
17 Stealth

...still unlikely that your damage will get close enough to theirs for a straight-bash-out.


if you're looking for 'tactics'

Avoid at all cost to be infront of them, they aren't hitting anything that's not in their front arc. Means, run through them, /stick or /face whatever you prefer, hit, rince repeat. If you get the hang on it, you'll mostly get hit by unstyled swings by them ... still harder than your styled, but not -that- much harder.
Otherwise Heat Weaps, Shadeform and/or the Malice-Mini-BoF charge.

...too bad that they all get the same options.

afaik arauddry is using battler/malice combo. So no heat there
And it´s 10% bonus with slash and 15% bonus with heat and afaik arauddry is capped in melee and style damage and 10% dmg from relics so it´s quite obvius why he does the damage he does.

And I know that Araud is using Malice/Battler, tho they're still as vulnerable to heat as any other leather wearer if I'm not mistaken.

So he get's 10% bonus from Mid leather being vulnerable, and an additional 10% from the one additional Relic they got. While a Mid-Stealther with Heat-LGs get's a 15% Bonus due to leather being vulnerable to heat.
That's a 5% advantage,can't say how the +melee/style is figured into this correctly.

But since Infils only ever get perfect critical hits, that swing was "just" ~260 +128 mainhand and ~135 +63 offhand.

with 50sword 44cs I could come up to 300+ with heat sword and 100-ish with malice on a good hit. and that was with +20% str relics and no +melee dmg or style dmg (malice wasn´t leveled). Although I mostly hit for 200-250 when we had all the relics.
So with a good crit it´s quite possible I could do that kind of dmg if we would have all the str relics. (Notice how I say ALL str relics when Albs only have 2. That´s because we cannot do same dmg as infils per round because of the la mechanics. It´s supposed to even out after 20s or so but what fight lasts that long?)

What are you using main hand now? I have a 99% heat axe atm but think it's a bit fast.

whenever you post a log of an infil dealing 200%+ of a SBs damage output they come with the "But it was a crit! For suuuure!" response ... what they aren't getting anywhere near is, that even if it were a perfect crit, it'd still be far beyond what a SB can dream off hitting for (unless you want to explicitly hit on lowbie NS in DF gear that're sitting down for comparison).

What are you using main hand now? I have a 99% heat axe atm but think it's a bit fast.

I am using a MP heat sword mainhand

I find most good Sb's can take care of a inf, with a Dieases and Str/con debuff our WS go's to hell (same as yours i guess )

You must have me confused with someone else. I dont whine. This thread is to seek advice on how I can do 100% more damage in order that I may compete with slash infs. Nothing more nothing less.

But with ToA cap increases its almost impossible to cap 26 str and 26 dex with out gimping other stats ... so generaly thrust users only see 1/2 the WS increase pure str based wep users get ..

Heh not wanting to rock your boat or nothing m8 but I dont think its skill that allows you to hit for more offhand than SB's can hit main hand. Nothing to boast about really, SB's can only hit as hard as Mythic allows them. Must be fun being an Inf though. I mean you can basically go AFK and still win, unstyled attacks hit me for more than I hit you. What is your spec btw?

there may also be another factor why Arauddry does so much more dam to your rr 5 sb m8 and it may be this

That's a RR10 SB with the same setup as Araud (GSV, Battler,Malice), hitting for 150dmg mainhand, 120ish offhand.

...if you can convince your opponent to just sit down through half the fight.
This was a sitting down NS that got heat-debuffed on the first hit and remained sitting for the first two hits. Guess the game is a bit slow on noticing that a player isn't sitting anymore, hence the high damage on two more hits after she finally stood up.
Then it drops to 150ish damage again

Is called AF espec buff in the cleric-bot, i suggest all SBs who are complaining to look for some +% buff jewerly and use it when fire the AF-buff charge that you MUST use to compete. Is not the infils who deal a lot of damage, the problem is the AP1'5 buff the infils have from bots that cause the SBs deal way too low damage.

yea and ns/sb get perma red haste not like infil
and i always said i prefer more haste than af ;o
