About See Hidden and some other stuff

1. Nope
2. Trade away 8 points that could invested in raw physical power? Perhaps, if I was infil; nope but as a sb or ns you encounter minstrels from time to time. And besides; its nice to keep track on those big stealthersqads Albion have started to build the last few days...especially when I, in the contrary case have started to play solo more and more often.

But another issue that consider all assassins; The dodgernerf...

My Evaderate should be;

35(Base)+3(RA)+3(RA) x 1,25(for buffs) = 51,25%

But thats bullshit it seems, I do not evade every second blow. My evaderate is more like 25%. Ztyx said that the system compare your Dex against the enemys Dex. If thats the case, Dodger II or III would still be a option if you fight many infiltrators...

Its the only benefit that Assassins have now in the US, tbh they are gimped to fook now
They capped evade - at 50%! - and took away your in-combat insta-heal and that's your idea of "gimped to fook"? You poor, spoiled baby.

I am not a fan of See Hidden due to the fact it had contributed to practically stopping archers and mincers soloing altogether which as a result removed a chunk of gameplay away. Now many would say this would be a good thing, but I as an Assassin I enjoyed the challenge of tracking them down. I recall in the early days hardly ever seeing Eleasias, Mos and Eldrich and when I did there was a surprise factor attached and a sense of achievement.

You say that like a really give a flying fook, I couldn't care less in fact I am glad they nerfed Assassins hopefully it will stop the ludicrous amount of them in Albion

And I hardly play mine now anyhow its boring as fook

Only the base numbers are correct, your opponents weapskill has a huge impact on evasion rates & so on. Nothing as simple as a your dex vs. their dex. Come IP nerf, 1400+ weapskill buffed :) Now to find out how the not-shown defenseskill is calculated.

I completely disagree, assasins are not gimped, they just have to be more patient and selective about their targets, it's just no longer a case of perfing a tank and destroying it.

Firstly, it's not evade rate (in terms of how frequently you actually evade) that's been capped to 50%, it's your evade 'skill'.

So, taking mine for example. Evade VII + Dodger 3 = 44%. Dex and Qui increase this (we haven't been told the exact formula, except that every point over 60 in these increases the skill, with the usual diminishing returns and no gain for going over 300). As my (Dex + Qui)/2 is 301, mine will be maxed (depending on which estimated formula you use) this will give me a final evade skill of between 65 and 80%.

It's this figure which will be capped to 50% in the upcoming patch, which will cause quite a sizable reduction to my evade rate.

Your opponent's WeapSkill is then tested against this evade skill, and this is then modified occordingly to get your actual chance to evade (which will then result in your final evade rate). So strictly speaking, your opponents Dex doesn't affect your evade rate unless Dex increases his WeapSkill (Thrust users in part, Staff users in full).

So, a smart assassin will land a str/con debuff on their opponent as fast as possible, reducing their WeapSkill, thus increasing your own evade rate, and reducing the damage taken when they do hit you. This will have most effect against slash/crush users, wiping ~40% off their WeapSkill, whereas if I'm debuffed my WeapSkill only drops from 1422 (maximum possible for a RR7 Inf) to ~1300 due to my WeapSkill being half based on Dex.

In the end, when evade 'skill' is capped to 50% and we lose IP, I'll drop Dodger down to 1, and take up Vanish, MoP4 and a load more passives (maybe take Purge).

So, no See Hidden as I usually find myself fighting SBs, although I am musing over the thought of Hunters' insta-cast pets, particularly until they fix the pet-see-through-stealth-and-chase-forever bug.

Anyway, back to work.....

I'm not to fussed with these nerfs. Firstly a greater reduction in evade will be more of a deficit to Infs considering their chances of winning fights rests mainly on an evade style i.e. Dragon Fang. And the points I receive back from Dodger I will spend on Long Wind. Secondly I don't have IP. :)

Sorry, but neither IP nor evade capping will have any effect on me 'perfing a tank and detroying it'. It'll just reduce my chances if a tank starts whacking on me first or I miss perf, and in this instance I'd only think it fair that I have little chance. As it is now, I just debuff them, evade 80% of their swings and walk away almost full health.

As for IP, most encounters I end up not using it. I mainly hit it when fighting multiple opponents, or fumble my fingers and hit it too late ;)

Nah, I disagree. Your chance to evade is very high yes, but 65-80%? nah. And I, that also have(at least almost) caped dex/qui and have dodger II(just one below yours) evade one, perhaps 2 blows out of 4 if I am happy. There is something about these numbers that aint correct or perhaps Mythic just gimped me :p

As I said, the chance is modified by your opponent's WeapSkill. We don't know the exact formula for modification, but let's say every 20 points above 1000 reduces the chance by 1%, and every 20 points below 1000 increases the chance by 1%.

So if you're fighting a tank with 1500 WeapSkill the evade rate might be reduced from 70% to 45%. If you're fighting a blue-con, with 700 WeapSkill, the chance might be increased to 85%.

Of course, the modifiers won't be anything like those numbers, and certainly won't be linear as above, but it's the right principle.

And well, if I've debuffed my opponent, I DO expect to evade in excess of 50% of swings.

Not surprising really when you have a lvl 50 Cleric at your disposal

Oh please stop the whining. I don't have a level 50 cleric at my disposal.... Well, actually I do, but it's on the same account as Pin, but anyway.

And for my first 1.2 million RPs I wasn't ever buffed (spent most of my time in Odin's and Uppland with Mazsola - and yes, you and your groups would eventually zerg us, and you should have realised that we never dropped any) and would still not have any problems beating a tank.

It's the Emain style of game that almost requires you to go out buffed. Maybe call it a sad state of affairs, but I'd rather have a chance of living longer than the 5-minute walk to amg when I'm out there.

I should hope not... as nerfs go, they are pretty inconsequential - nothing like the hammering that other classes have taken. Anyone who would say that assassins are now "gimped" is the kind of person who plays single-player quake with godmode on.
