I have an 8x plextor. It rocks.
I'd advise getting that 'burn-proof' thingy. Heard some good stories :)
For that matter, I'd sell you my 8x [low use, really :)] cheapish so I could get one of them bp's :)

Exactly what I was looking at, does it come with the SCSI card or am I gonna have to get one as well?

When I got mine I had to buy an adaptec 2920 series card to go with it. It's a nice and inexpencive card, works well. Can't boot to it tho, you'll have to get it's big brother if you want to do stuff like that.

yep... PLEXTOR all the way... I have the scsi 8x2x20 and it is fuckin A!

Cool, I've seen Adaptec SCSI interface cards for about £70.

Mikey, there are less expencive Adaptec models than that m8.
Look for one of these: 2904 pci SCSI2
It's perfect for driving a burner/player combo and can't be more than 35 quid.
:D
