Funny to see a GOA employee moderating on this board. I thought that originally the GOA guys got Moderator priviledges so no one could pretend to be them? Has GOA now taken this board over? If so i hope they at least pay good...

No, the DAOC GMs get mod access because sometimes they need to be able to remove references such as Requiel did above.

Now, it is clear that Requiel is more active on these boards than perhaps Kemor or Zargar have been in the past, and in a number of instances I can see that he has been offering useful advice or comments to users. Clearly this is a good thing. Don't knock the GM wanting to be active.

I've said it before, I'll say it again. Freddyshouse is a totally non-commercial effort provided by TedTheDog and Deebs. GOA do not pay for these boards to be run, though we do welcome the GOA GMs input in running the community we have here. DAOC players ought to be thankful to have people around who care about the community and put effort into running it.

No because your original post was in contravention of both Goas CoC and these boards CoC. I therefore deleted it.

You didn't delete but alter it without marking that you altered it... thats not honest moding thats pretending to be someone you aren't.

instead of goa GM's wasting time banning people for being helpful to a realm mate, maybe they should go and have a look at ebay..............

Instead of baiting mods here why don't you try and keep your freddyshouse account active? :twak:

If GOA administered the trades then there would be no scamming.

More important question though, is how come you have these rules on a 3rd party forum that are totally focussed around GOA's requirements and not your community?

GOA closed their own forums because their service was so shocking the forums were an embarrassment to them. You guys are providing a service they could not, for whatever reasons, and although I have no problem with you enforcing their rules, I don't see why they can't at least remunerate you for those services.

I am not going to state the obvious financial benefits.

Gear here, trying for a second time to say something. Other ppl scam, one tries to help, he get's banned! Grand!

Dear Jupitus, I'm 30 years old, and I feel quite old to be mod-baiting! Looking at my posts will prove that. Point however is that I want to be treated with respect, the same one I try to show to other ppl. Now, editing one of my posts that DOES have my signature, is something that infridges my right of speech. I was not being in any way offensive, nor was I try to sell anything. Instead I was willing to give something for free to a person in need. I do believe that this is the spirit we'd like to harverst in games such as DAoC.

You have already deleted another post where i refer to the origins of the word 'forum' (in latin it means an open space for discussion), well, from the moderating that has been excibited to me today, i'd say that it's more of a Colloseum than a forum.

If you want to delete this post as well, fine, just don't call this place a forum!

would be cool if accounts could be traded like ingame trades are, you see what both parties offer and you accept at the same time

no scamming, no whine, etc

Nevertheless, according to the CoC (which you are under obligation to know, since you click "accept" on it every time you launch DAoC), you are not allowed to transfer an account to another player. Furthermore, the FH code of conduct states the same thing. If you (a) cannot be bothered to inform yourself of this fact (strange, really, since you are legally bound to know it by playing the game), and (b) can't see why the FH mods must take action when someone violates it, then you frankly need to sober up. Yes, this is a forum, an open place of discussion, but if some guy broke the written or unwritten rules of this place in ancient Rome, he'd be out on his ass, too.

In addition, take a look at your edited posts and you will see it was Requiel (one of the English GMs) who took action, not Jupitus (he was referring to others mod baiting, not you).

It's a forum, and it has rules of acceptable behaviour associated with it, as outlined in our code of conduct. Your first post may have been an attempt to help someone out, but it was also in breach of the game's code of conduct, so Requiel took action. If you had stopped, checked the code of conduct for the game and these boards, and stopped at that point then I'd have let it stand as a warning. Instead you chose to have a go not only at a board mod but also a DAOC GM for taking action and I will uphold their decision and hence enforced a ban. It's 7 days, get over it.

You must notify Mythic, via electronic mail to transfers@darkageofcamelot.com, not later than three (3) days after concluding the sale that you have transferred the Account, including in your notice the following: your true name and current mailing and e-mail address, login name and player name associated with the Account; the true name and current mailing and e-mail addresses of the transferor (you) and the transferee, and the following statement: “I HEREBY CERTIFY THAT, ON [INSERT DATE OF TRANSFER] I TRANSFERRED ALL MY RIGHTS TO ACCESS AND USE THE DAOC ACCOUNT IDENTIFIED ABOVE, TO THE PERSON IDENTIFIED ABOVE, AND THAT SUCH TRANSFER COMPLIES WITH ALL THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS GOVERNING ACCOUNT RIGHTS TRANSFERS, AS SET FORTH IN THE CURRENT VERSION OF THE DARK AGE OF CAMELOT™ END USER ACCESS AND LICENSE AGREEMENT, WHICH I FURTHER CERTIFY I HAVE READ AND DELIVERED TO THE TRANSFEREE.” The subject field of the e-mail must contain only the name of the account that is being transferred. Mythic Entertainment assumes no obligation or responsibility for any misspelling or typographical errors on your part.

Thats interesting, this is a different standpoint from the one they took at launch! Its not encouraging trading but its deffinately not discouraging it. Maybe GOA's policys are getting a little dated? Why is DAoC one of the only MMORPGs that actively discourages/bans trading outside of the game? There is no real reason to, games like UO, EQ, AC etc all have huge followings on ebay and the likes. Its become a part of the game, sites like The Gaming Open Market (Stock exchange for online worlds) are a fantastic idea that actually add to a game.

Leave it be I say, just put on a huge disclaimer stating that its all at the owners/buyers risk and be done with it!

For those who have problems with purchasing game can recommend that shop:
http://www.special-reserve.com/
At least they delivered my ToA copy to Latvia in about week with little charge for post expenses.

P.S. I'm not making it as advert to that special company, but it's one rare that do deliver CDs to almost all countries.

When you say 'cheaters' I'm assuming it's a typo and you meant characters :p
Yes we do have GM characters ingame. Try doing a /who 100 to see if we're online. If we aren't and you need a GM for some reason then look for an E&E volunteer as they can contact us quickly in an emergency.
E&E lists:
Excalibur
Prydwen
