Scammed and camelot-europe is why

Tuesday evening i was on camelot-europe and i saw a POLL icon, so i entered name/pass and off i went, about 10min after, somebody managed to get into my Sub account and change my email, and send a new game PW to that account, luckily i was ingame and therefore they couldnt log in, so i changed email back and got new password, however, whilst i was at work, they did the same, and took EVERYTHING off my chars but didnt delete. Whilst talking to ppl ingame after, i found that someone else (Adola) had also had someone change his email on his sub page after he had been on the Poll, this may be coincidence but either way i strongly suggest NOONE GOES ON THE POLL till it is fixed or indeed if it is.

Whilst this is being sorted, i have a few favours to ask from mids, albs, and hibs alike, from my stuff, 2 VERY rare and unique items were stolen, u find them u find the scammer, so if ANYONE sees the following items in emain, in hadrians, in DF, anywhere, plz post the name of the individual on this thread, and SS if u can
The 2 unique items are..

Great Shadowed Impaler: Couldnt find a SS of this, but its the only bow of its kind on prydwen, dropped of dragon once, and only once, It looks like the Alb longbow, but only in jet BLACK, so u see this bow, then thats the man

Blackhearted Spear:
Base tint is navy blue as its from TG, its a spear but looks more like an Albion polearm, youll know this spear when u see it, very unique shape to other spears so u can easily reconise.

Only 3 of its kind on mid atm, afaik Tvi has 1, and an inactive member of Baf has 1, so see anyone apart from Tvi with that spear, leave his name plz.

Well now i have no items etc, i wont be around much untill GOA change my sub pass, if they change my sub pass, if they do, ill come back and play the game i enjoy, if they dont, then ill be forced to retire, i HOPE ill cya all soon.

Didn't GOA guarantee that the polls would be safe to participate in ???

Assuming you took the poll from official webpage and have ruled out any trojans/viruses etc ??

Well, how happy are you gonna be paying for the next subscription ?
Do you feel secure filling in creditcard details knowing this and also knowing the repeated problems with the subs pages ??


Hope it all will get solved , but remembering past incident with some guy stealing account and getting that player (was it Glauthrong ??) banned - while the hacker still go on playing...sigh

Are you ABSOLUTELY sure you were on www.daoc-europe.com and not for example www.doac-europe.com or whatever. There was a site on US that mirrored the herald with spelling mistakes and then took you on a poll log in etc. and got your account scammed.

Edit: and are you absolutely sure you just didn't let your "friend" play your account and so on. "Do the Loch" and so on.

Was defo camelot-europe webbie, and non of my m8's have sub pass, 1 m8 has login, but since email was changed to get the login pass, would suggest taht the said person had sub pass

Keylogger? Most likely this is NOT a random scam imho. Someone attacked YOU and only you with the goal to get those Uber items.

Scan your system for trojans.

Edit: To change your email and get a new game password the person needs your subscription login/password. The poll uses your game login/password iirc. So I dont think the camelot-europe page was the security problem.

well atleast 1 other person ive spoken to tonight also had sub pages hacked and email changed with new PW sent, within 10min of doing the poll, thats wot im getting at here, also hoping with post will bring out more, as ive only been in game a few hours today

Ouch! Just checked camelot-europe and cant find the poll thingy anymore. (Maybe I'm just too tired but if they removed it then they admit they have a security problem.) Still I can not see how you can obtain the subscription login by another way than contacting the support, key-logging you (wich is on a 2nd thought unlikely since you really dont use your subscription pass very often) or hacking goa's subscriber d-base.

If this one is different now, please contact subscription@goa.com " - If it is THAT easy, then they should give you your stuff back and provide you with free playtime aswell.

Another edit: Why change your email/password at all when the person got the login allready? Sounds weird to me.

Sad to hear =( Most likely the trojan (if that was how ur subs leaked out) was given to you by someone involved with daoc (since else they wouldn't know what to do with the subs really and wouldn't be bothered with stripping the chars). Can't envy you for the repeated mails you haveto send GOA to get something fixed.

keylogger or hacked due to poor security is what it sounds like to me, sure you dont have your pass somewhere in your HD? How would someone get access to subspages via the polls, sounds very weird. Anyways, GoA have IPlog of who have used your account, easy to check.

In this case some stuff lost are uber rare and cannot be used by the thief(s).

But if more are affected and semiuber loot are stolen the thief(s) can use it if GOA doesn't take any action against them

Gonna be interesting to see if any official word of this is gonna show up

Maybe you should've put a post on the main forums too to get attention ?? We all know that they don't like Midgard that much

Yes, GOA logs everything. So they can easily track down your spear and bow. Which they should absolutely do.

It's really difficult to tell what has happened here. I wish GOA's support can solve this for you ASAP.

I reckon the poll is a very doubtful reason that someone would get into your account to change your email etc. You put your game password in there, not your subscription password.

in other words, check your security, and don't mindlessly blame GOA for everything that goes wrong

As ive found out from posts for u guys, it says enter game login pw, now when i did it, it DEFO asked for my sub pass, and ive got camelot-europe on favourites, so either camelot-europe got hacked or i somehow got a Ghost website :/

Just a word on this topic.
All parts of our website asking for your personal information (login/etc) are as secure as secure can be. After a first investigation, we found no problem at all on our part, and especially not with anything related to the polls, subscription part or "my account" part, feel free to vote, change your information and anything you usually do.
This being said, the investigation on the Snorig's account issue is being done...

Only way I could imagine this happening is that either you are storing your account information on your computer and got hacked, or you have traded/shared your account/s.

And its sad to see people losing their items and/or characters they've put a lot of hours into

True, that is a breach of CoC or whatever...
But It might also be that Snornig bought a new account ???

Merc is albion, Ranger is Hibernia...

And if the ranger is a project (on excal/hib) then I surely hope he didn't sold 1 spot on pryd/alb or whatever and still manages to play on pryd/mid...doesn't make much sense to me
