Just my thoughts,
As most of you know I find the usual Emain antics and RP farming pretty boring and pointless... I like RVR when there is a motive or point to it, IE keep raiding, relic raids etc...
I get most enjoyment in this game from hunting down mobs. Not just legion but all the Boss mobs in the game, like the EZ princes, the dragon, the epic mobs, DF princes, legion belithian etc....
I like the idea of trying to collect the real rare items in the game, that give you just that small edge over your adversories...
MY problem with spell crafting is simply...
Everyone (bar all but the part time players) will have full capped stats and resists... Everyone will be using MP 100% weapons with DOTS etc etc... The items players can now create are en par with the best drops in the game.... (sure the imbue value of some of the drop items is massive and all the effects cannot be recreated) but in practical terms player made weapons will be just as good, and with full capped resist and stats, there is just no point to having these big mobs in the game.....
This will be made 10 times worse when jewelery crafting comes, and you can make bracers and rings etc.....
They have gone to so much trouble creating new zones and items for SI, but at the end of the day you really wont need any dropped items as soon as jewerly crafting comes to...
Its just gonna be a server full of identical players with identical maxxed out stats... (sure its gonna cost u a lot of money, but everyone is getting prepared for it now by farming money)
There has been little or no developement in the RVR system since day 1 (not including class changes)....
There wont be much reason to play daoc, from my point of view when SC and JC is fully implemented....
RP means nothing to me....
