Sb's & Infil's - goa's view

If i am not totally mistaken, Niar, the Infiltrator with most realm points on prydwen is slash.

just want to point out the pro's of sb:

- 2 hander
- left axe with both weapons swinging all the time and thus a chance to get both poisons off (infs usually cripple their DW)
- usefull LA styles with no defense penalty
- higher strength
- higher constitution
- able to wield a good weapon in the left hand compared to thrust infs which can only get a 15.5 dps crafted weapon max (correct me if i am wrong)

Infiltrators and Shadowblades are fairly balanced imo. Each of them got their ups and downs. Only assassin class that got the facts that they are underpowered are the nightshades. But becouse of something is balanced and make a good character, while the other is a bit weaker, the solution is not that to gimp the existing balanced chars.

Maybe too many infiltrators thou its going to be a stealth war real soon . As i heard many scouts and clerics got an infi and not for thidranki

yes the inf has a distinct advantage as far as spec pts are concerned than the sb. As for as the versitility of the sb being limited to killing mages and scouts... hrmm I regular solo tanks, from both opposing realms, be it a an armsman, Hero, Champion or Paladin. The only classes I struggle against are the cleric, and Minstrel. The cleric mainly because its simply to overpowered. The minstrel, cause its in chain. Simply cause you choose to go with a spec template for the sb that limits it options, and makes you more vunerable, to most of our enemies. Does mean that the SB is gimped, and under powered, one on one, be it melee or through using my CS styles, I will hold my own and beat one on one just about anyone.Look at Death highest RP in our realm, by a long way, we're very close in our final template he has higher weapon skills, I went for the venoms. The SB is NOT gimped, just some that choose to gimp themselves. All the alb tanks I've left lying dead, will testify, to the strength of the SB.

Ask Luona I destroyed him when i was lvl46. The SB is as powerful as the inf, I have 300hp more than most infs, much higher con, when i get hit buy enervation venoms it effects me less. THE ASASSIN is all about ENVENOM, thats what makes them so dangerous, the DOT, the debuff, crippling venoms to ensure target can't out run the CD, disease venoms to screw up insta-heals. Venoms are an assassins strength, the CS styles, just make the combo of high venoms and high dmg moves more lethal.

Yes Vanish rocks compared to our pants stealth run RA. But Vanish is bugged, our RA isn't you hit the vanish button by mistake whilst stealthed you lose you vanish till the timer resets and you unstealth, it acts as a toggle. But vanish isn't that good, get DOT into the system of an inf that vanishes and watch him reappear. As for Dragonfang, its good against slow troll, who think 2-handed weapons are cool, against a sb its pointless, we are too fast, unless you are gimped and use a 2-handed weapon.

Neither Jadow or Lakerell have EVER dragonfanged me, speed is the essence, not power. Anyone who disputes the SB's strength is welcome to face me one on one.

tho im a paladin not a tank.. even with slam its Even harder to hit them with a sheild than a Sword..

Anyway we dont have enough damn spec points for great envenom, crit and to train our wep sword/axe's - yes i miht respec to 5spec but the envenom wont be that good still as i still want 34 cs and 39 LA with 36 stealth leaving me a nice 34 axe and a fantastic whopping 32 envenom :/ - all of these specs are the absolute minmum I could get them to rais my envenom buy 7 points total :/, Just out of interest durgi how hard are you hitting plate with your slash weps..? because my damage is fekin crap on plate - envenom wouldnt do enough damage to kill an armsman/pala alone anyway they have alot of hp?As for cleric yes they are over powered :/ insta mez > stun > thunder > dead. Funy finding the odd cleric who has no idea tho \o/

hehehe from what i hear most people either moaning about sbs and infiltrators well if they are both gimped quit alb/mid and come make nightshades on pryd/hib as the majority havent mentioned them so im assuming they have to be the best assassin class

Hmm no, a 42 in shield would make things more difficult, but it wouldn't be "hell" for any of us. We can still solo shield thanes without too much difficulty. The simple fact is that RA's have a much stronger effect on RvR than whatever spec you have chosen however.

IP > 42 Shield.

But this thread is really funny, an Infil says that they're gimped when they specc in Slash, and a SB says they're gimped when they specc in 2handed ... and that's the so-called 'advantages' of SBs
give us and the Nightshades the 0.3 more specc points damnid !
Or Nightshades 2.5 and Infils/SBs 2.2 ... prolly more fair.

As someone said before, RA's are having a major impact on fights now.
A good example was when I fought Divious at the AMG in Emain. I landed a full PA chain on his ass with lifebane but he still nearly killed me because he had IP < I had 5% health left :S >. It doesn't matter what the guy was spec'd in, the IP was the most important thing to him in that fight.
So if you're going compete, you got to rack up the RP's like Niar, Death, Azal etc have. Azal and Death aren't the hardest SB's for no reason.

Heres another example. I saw a Norse running out of the MPK, noticed he had a rather large sword on his back ... Oooh, a warrior. Decided to try my luck. I lasted 3 hits. I got him to about 40% health
