I have tried to make a template for my SB and as many say it isn’t really that easy. Like all other templates you always need and want more, but of the 3 I’ve made – which one do you think I should pick and why?

My spec. now is 36 Stealth, 39 Axe, 34 CS, 44 LA and 20 Envenom.

Artifacts: GSV, CB, SoM, Malice, RoD, (MS version1) and champ weapon off hand.

On all 3 templates my stats will be this – hits between 392 and 400:
Str: 101 Int: 0 Hits: 396
Con: 100 Pie: 0 Power: 0
Dex: 30 Cha: 0
Qui: 65 Emp: 0 (Quick buffed =251)

And the cap increase:
5 Qui
200 Hits
25 Str
25 Con

What I really come down to is the resists contra the Skills and Other bonuses.

Version1:
Body: 20 Energy: 0 Crush: 26
Cold: 20 Matter: 0 Thrust: 23
Heat: 23 Spirit: 16 Slash: 33

11 Stealth
4 Axe
11 Left Axe

25 AF Bonus
5 Fatigue
10 Melee Damage Bonus
10 Melee Speed Bonus
10 Style Damage Bonus

Version2:
Body: 21 Energy: 7 Crush: 26
Cold: 23 Matter: 0 Thrust: 23
Heat: 25 Spirit: 20 Slash: 33

11 Stealth
4 Axe
11 Left Axe

25 AF Bonus
5 Fatigue
8 Melee Damage Bonus
9 Melee Speed Bonus
10 Style Damage Bonus

Version3:
Body: 20 Energy: 0 Crush: 26
Cold: 25 Matter: 0 Thrust: 23
Heat: 25 Spirit: 9 Slash: 33

11 Stealth
11 Axe
11 Left Axe

25 AF Bonus
5 Fatigue
8 Melee Damage Bonus
9 Melee Speed Bonus
10 Style Damage Bonus

Version 1 has some spirit resists, but the best bonus to Melee damage, style and speed. – Version 2 has bit less other bonuses but better resists – and version 3 has higher axe skill and the same bonus as version 2, but resists are all in all the worst.

Is +11 axe really that needed when I am using LA as main attack style? Is it worth trying to get higher CS into the template to make that style stick when attacking? Is it better to respect to High axe/LA and drop CS and go envenom cause I do not have + to CS? In Version 1 – would 16 Spirit at all do me any good out there compares to higher axe skill?

To a SB n00b it really isn’t that easy – so please all you experienced guys and girls :worthy: out there, please spend a few mins and try to help me out here.

Your weapon spec determins your variance on all mainhand attacks, the spec line of the style affects the style damage.

So with that in mind - and that I am mainly using LA styles - I wouldn't really need the +11 in Axe cause the dmg is determinated on the 44+11 from the LA skill? I that correct ?

Try to make a template that maximizes most aspects in a high percentage of the fights, e.g. those vs slash, heat and body damage.

That way you will be optimal in those fights.

That points towards template 3, it doesn't matter that much if you gimp a few resists, as long as you keep your average damage input/output minimal/optimal ...
