What would you say is the race for a savage?


My opinion: i would say Dwarf cause their high constitution gives an advantage, and since a savages gaining points goes to Str, Dex and quickness, Constitution will never rise unless you got items, so the "low" dex and quickness will be pretty good since they rise...

But enough 'bout my opinion, give me yours


btw, anyone got any nice savage screens from RvR or something, post up!

Race makes very little difference in the end.

If you're going 2hander I would go norse or troll due to their str advantage. For HtH either seems fine.

None of them will really suffer from stats, at least not more than can be evened out with a few RAs.

Personally, I went kobold, cause I just love kobolds

I like the hit for being a 6x hit, not so much for the damage, done plenty more damage with some triple and quad hits, especially on cloth wearers

You can allways call me biased when I say I'd never go dwarf, it's the race I hate the most in midgard personally, they look like crap, are fat and have serious problems controlling their beards

As for the health difference, I buff to just over 2100 hp with +160 hp gear (leaving 40 out), with +10 into con at birth. Dunno how much the dwarf savages put in con at birth but as far as I can tell they aren't more than maybe 100-200 hp ahead.

Savages, at least HtH ones, have a minimal difference when it comes to which race you go with, so if you like dwarf, go dwarf.

Are you sure that's not a triple followed by an unstyled triple? Swing speed at cap is hard to keep track of.

You can't hit more than 4 times/round. What you're seeing is a quad followed by a double hit(could be a double followed by a quad or 2 triples aswell ofc).

put +8 con at start with buffs and aug con 2 i have 300 con

2346 hp

1726 unbuffed

h2h is purely based on mythics wonderful random number generator (/sarcasm off)

there are times where it takes you 10 hits to kill a caster and other times you drop them in 2 hits.

only screenie i have at the mo is a quad hit on a hib hero.

You cannot compare some lowbie pic vs mobs and how you will perform @50..

Whilst levelling my savage I admit at times I was rather unimpressed with the 'whiffing', but as get closer to 50 it becomes so much better..

..and if you want a screenshot war, I think I've got about 50 quad screenshots from last week alone

Actually it is possible to hit one target more than 4 times in one combat round, others have done it before me.

It prolly dont matter what what pick because at level 50 there isnt much diffence anyways.

I donno what the AB is in the SS but it didnt seem to take any damage off, must been bugged or something.

No offence, but I still don't believe more than 4 hits are possible in one round. Those screenshots show nothing, I could dig a screenshot of me hitting something with my SB 4 times and it would look similar to those above. you need logs (with times) for proof. Lythandes explanation is the most likely.

I think quad it is the highest possible. However cant you hit 3 targets in one round each with a quad? Chances off that happening is probably 0 , but i think its possible

i`d love to see that myself.. cos it aint possible unless that champ has 0 resists and sod all buffs, that includes his own str/con buff

styled dmg is ~200
unstyled ~130-150

would have to be a quad, with close to 4 50% crits and 4 procs to even get close to one shotting a champ..

whats the chance of that happening.. very little i say.

I never said its very likely, but ive seen it done.

1600 dmg in total or on one person? As when a savage hits multiples targets, he can hit for atleast 9*150 = 1350 (triples on every target) and then styled damage . No idea if the styled damage is on all three targets aswell actually, if so 1600 wouldnt be that rare to get in one round. However to get it on one person thats something else

I think he hit 4 times for about 250 each, 50% crits on all 4 and proced on 2 hits

Well let's just hope they make savage styles give bonus on all hits (haha, if ever!) then perhaps you'd believe my SS.

More than 4 hits in one round are possible on one target, they are extremely rare but no new phenomenon, been discussed on US servers quite a few times as well.

The fifth hit is a normal single attack, as shown by it doing 160 damage just as the first of the 5 and the other 3 doing 100-130.

Thus it was a quad followed by a single.

And no, its not possible to hit more than 4 times, US daoc have had SI for like, half a year(not really, but soon) and i have yet to see someone claiming that they can make more than 4 hits on a single target.

Gonna get some more browsing the savage forum at Vnboards, currently on page 5 and not even a whisper about more than quad on a single target, not even someone asking about it.
