This time of year is one of my favorite due to these
wonderfull brews...

So, how many have you had, wich have you had, and wich would you like to try ?

I have yet to dig into the ones from work but, so far I've tried
Konges bryghus, Skovlyst, Ørbæk, Svaneke, and ofcause, the obligatory Tuborg & Royal xmas

Putting together a little tasting evening for my self and a couple mates,
where we will be biting into some of the finer stuff from work, and trying
out some of the "project beers" and some forign brews as well.

project beers meaning "own brews" and aged beers
" mikkellers santas little helper, Bøgedahl, Jacobsens Semper Ardens.

so share your nectar, and tell your christmas tale!

oh!
I've also tried a couple xmas malts, although, well, honestly...I dont get these.
that's not saying I didnt like them "typically finishes" but I dont really get it,
as in. I dont really see the Christmas connection.

same goes for some "although wonderfull" christmas brews that I've seen and tried over the years.
Delamian makes a good Xmas Cognac though, wich is blended to a more spicy version of the orig..
.and I'd say has abit of that "xmas feel" over it.

Here's a Santamassy tip for you Olga, i know you'll love it;

Get a bottle of semi-cheap whisk(e)y (you know, not cheapest, but no "high class". Drinking whisk(e)y)
Get a couple of cinnamon bars(you know, these).
Get a few clove.

Get other santamas spices you like.
Drop in whisk(e)y bottle.
Leave for two days.
Take spices out.

Drink and enjoy :drink:

Today they gave a pink freakin' new spirit to take home and try.
as soon as I landed in my domicile the GF jumped at the bag "thinking I'd brought home more candy...she spots the spirit and..."Aww! how cute" soon followed..
honestly..bloody hell..how am I supposed to test this product with an open mind now ?

If i wasnt so settled as I am..it would have seriously threatened my manliness!

no ?

ok, you make the call,
and to add insult to injury, I got it in one of those "pee sample jars with a lid"

arf!
on the upside I have a 1982 vintage rom to sample as well...yes also in a damn P-jar!

I'd drink it, but wtf is it? Looks like it's 45/50/55%?

How does it taste?

it's a "new spirit" that been matured in Californian red wine barrels for 6 months.
still havent gotten around to trying it.
it's called "The Spirit Drink that blushes to speak its name"
there is also a clear version called "The Spirit Drink that dare not speak its name"

fyi new spirit, is basicly whisky that isnt whisky yet "that takes at least 3 years"

So it's just "new spirit"? Not whisky, not rum, not vodka or anything?

Sounds interesting if it's a mix of red wine and early whisky tbh.. Give it a taste and let me know if it's worth it

well it's not exactly mixed with red wine,
it's put into ex-wine casks "red"

and aye new spirit "for single malt whisky" is basicly just a clear distilled barley spirit wich has been destilled from the wort
"aka a kind of simplistic beer that hasnt had hops added"

Funny fact, a new spirit for most grain whisky "back bone for blends and the whisky industry in general"
is a clear wheat spirit..also commonly known as...90% of all Vodkas on the market "vodka can also be distilled from f.exp rye or potatos..

i dont understand the question here..
those arent exactly what you'd call hoppy beers

I am very keen on one xmas brew, From Beer Here called Jule IPA.
I'm sceptical to say the least. I'm sure it'll be good...but will it be christmasy ?
very doutfull, but well open minded.
