Dicks out, to be honest.

Their are a few downsides to ryzen 3000 series:

1. The southbridge ( or whatever its called on these boards ) draws around 11w , and peaks at 15. That means most boards are using fans to cool it, extra heatsink/cost.
2. The PCIE 4 stuff is expensive.
3. Way more usb options on boards - usb 3.1, 3.0.

These boards are going to be more expensive than previous AM4 series boards.
There are £1000 high end boards w/ integrated water cooling though....

I'd guess instead of basic consumer boards being £60-100 they move into the £100-150 ish range.

That said, the £500 cpu beats intels equivalent £1000 cpu, and the R5 3600x is a fucking insane monster for £250.

Put a 3700x in my B350 board today, no probs.
Might have to upgrade the stock cooler though, not sure if I got a dodgy one or what but temps a bit higher than I'd like and default fan curves are ass.

What did you have before and how much of a difference has it made?

1700 w/ mild Oc to 1700x levels, +35%-50 FPS or so in the games I play.
Obv the 1700 was bottlenecking, but now the GPU will be.
