Archeon said:Its a New Frontier's thing - basically when you hit your cap you can't earn anymore realm points in Thid, but you can still earn them in 'proper' RvR.
So you can teleport to a keep thats under seige (no risk of getting raped by a stray AE) and use seige-stuff like boiling oil to kill lvl50's and get enough RP for RR2, then you can go back to Thid and as long as your still lvl24 you can still port.
Kind of sucks really, I hope Mythic will put a hard RR cap on Thid as well as the level one. The idea of having my toons steamrolled by sombody with Purge is most worrying.

1.70 Patch Notes
- Players will be able to earn realm points in each of the remaining battlegrounds, however, there will be a limit to the number of realm points players can earn in each battleground. After they have reached this limit, killing other enemy players will not grant any more realm points (players will still be able to participate in that battleground until they exceed the level cap).

Clicky
That wouldnt be fair to people who want to stay in Thid. Its extremely hard to get 350rps and not 351rps. You can be on 349 rps and kill someone worth 4rps and be on 353 without wanting to overcap.Brend said:351 for example, then u couldnt port.
Brend said:i seen that what i was tryingto say was if in OF u hit 350 rp thats it u cant go thid any more ....in NF u can still go u jus get no rp ;P.....but if u get more than the cap rps ..351 for example, then u couldnt port.
thats the way i understood it anyway ,maybe i was wrong./shrug
Archeon said:At present that is the case, if you go over Thid's cap at the moment (before NF) you won't be able to port in. However this thread was regarding the changes made in NF which are being exploited by people. So really OF doesn't really have much to do with this.
Back on topic, i'm hoping Mythic add the RP cap back in at RR1L5, that way you'd still be able to go to Thid - but not intentionally be able to gain any huge advantages such as RR2, guess I can keep hoping on that one![]()
Brend said:lol ..not explaining this very well ....the point i make is i think it isnt sposed to be so u can port in when u over the rp ..ie its not workin as intended ?
Archeon said:In the case of Old Frontiers (everything prior to patch 1.70 which is currently being Beta Tested on Gorre) you'd be right, once you hit the Realm Point cap - thats it. Your out, you'd have to reroll in order to carry on.
However in New Frontiers (everything after patch 1.70 which is currently being Beta tested on Gorre) the system was changed so that as long as you fall within the Level Requirement you can port to your relative Battleground.
The Realm Points cap hasn't been removed as such, but instead of losing the ability to travel to Thid you lose the ability to Gain Realm Points in thid.
However! (again) - you can still earn Realm Points Outside Thid, which has brought about the rise of people playing in Thid being Realm Rank 2. As long as they fall within the level restriction of Thid (lvl20-24) they can continue to teleport there, they just won't earn Realm Points.
I hope that clears up any confusion, if it doesn't i'm going to hate to start beating people around the head with trouts, possibily Salmon.

Thats still gonna piss people off who are legitimately trying to level / gain RP's in the BG's.
I know i won't like it if a RR2 mid. alb, or hib comes back just for the sake of killing, or getting his mates RP's (which will be the main reason).
However, having said that, its just like 'proper' RVR but without the RP's...

To stop people becoming far more powerful than their level would normally allow, I would imagine.Hamro said:why would there be a rr cap?

Formash said:Yup - i can confirm this. I tried to create a 5 toon, then a 24 toon on gorre, then aimed for higher RR than 350 RP's would allow for BG's and it wouldn't let me.
