The harpoons don't retract. It's either the drills or those that've worked.

It's weird - I read something saying that the harpoons cannot be refired and that they were a one-shot deal. Now the beeb's on about refiring them...

Images of the first landing from the mother ship...almost bang on the mark....pity it bounced off...but as the comet nears the sun it should charge up again.

They also will most likely be able to pinpoint it's location too as it's radio signals will give it away.

So, bounced over a mile, landed in a hole, survived sub-zero temperatures for ages and now working again due to "more sun". That's a triumph of engineering right there

All space probes need a marketing team writing twitter reports and anthroph...anthromorp...making them seem alive.

its a public relations truimph for rosetta its made science look cool and to give philae a twitter account and basically a voice/personality people have really took to it its almost treated like a pet. amazing that its come back alive and im chuffed to bits i really hope we get some good photos if possible of the comet starting to flare and they get all the experiments done this time
