In what alternate reality? Real are badly run, in a league that's probably the third best in Europe. They're not even the best supported club in the world anymore. Quieroz has told Ronaldo he'd be mad to sign for Real at the moment, and if Ronaldo listens to anyone, its him. All Ronaldo's doing right now is winding up the press and sending a signal to SAF that he deserves a pay rise (which is a fair point), but Ronaldo can also make more in sponsorship ad endorsments playing for United than just about anybody. No doubt he'll go to Spain one day, but I'd bet its at least two years away, probably 3; SAF will want to keep him until we've made the Scousers cry by beating their title record, or even better, matching their Big Cup record (although that's a long shot).

As for the proposed swap players; Ramos is interesting because a world-class right back is the main weak link in the United squad, Diarra, meh, Carrick and Hargreaves have that position well covered, and as for Robinho, yeah just what United need, another undersized forward. I'm sure if SAF could get Ramos he'd be interested, but Alves is nearly as good, they don't need Diarra, and Ferguson will want a full-fat centre forward like Klaas-Jan Huntelaar (or similar) to give him some options when Mr. Glass goes.

One word Madrid thats what makes it a glamour club over Manchester United any day of the week. Also 9 Champions Leagues and 31 League Titles they are a club with massive prestige and history.

Ask most non-Spanish speaking foreigners to name the most famous club in the world and 8 times out of 10 they would say United. When I was in South America for 6 months last year, I saw more MUFC shirts than Real or Barca shirts; the EPL, and United in particular, got far more foreign TV coverage than any La Liga games. As for Asia, no contest, there are even dedicated United shows on StarAsia, which is the biggest football broadcaster on the continent.

Real are a more successful club than United, but when it comes to glamour, there's no contest. This was true in 70s when United were also-rans compared to Liverpool, but still had more support, and its even more true now. Its part of the reason Real went down the whole Galacticos route in the first place; they had to reinject some glamour into the fading facade, but its the Abramovich approach - a house of cards.

And Madrid ain't even all that as a city; as Spanish cities go I'd rank it about 5th in the desirable city stakes. If you were going to choose a team to play for based on how nice the city was you'd place Barca and Seville ahead of Madrid, and if that kind of thing bothered you that much, you'd probably go and play in Italy anyway.

Sorry but thats in your opinion if i were a footballer and had an offer from Madrid or Man U i would not pick Salford over Spain. You can believe that Man U are the envy of every club in the world and that everyone plays for the chance to sign for you but i just can't see it.

Absolutely. I used to live in Salford so I know damn well its a toilet, but its not relevant since no Man U player lives there.

As for picking "Salford over Spain", sorry but that's actually happening; the influx of world class players to English clubs is accelerating; not necessarily United, but for a lot of them any English club will do, and especially the top 4. Don't forget even if English clubs didn't pay the best wages (and generally they're more than competitive), they do have the lowest tax.

The only reason people say that is because in 16 years only one team out of the big 3 have won out league. However i think with the exception of Bolton and Chel$ki when they play boring the premiership puts up matches that our untouched by any other league.

Although i have watched some really goof German games and the Dutch teams can put up a good show France too now i have no idea.

Can't beat South American football for atmosphere though, fucking awesome.

Boca is a bit of a letdown, as they're playing very tactical unlike the rest of the teams in the league. What amazes me, is how the small teams fights for 90mins without any clue of what the hell they're doing. They're just rushing around the field for the ball

And I disagree with what you said about not having any good players, although you've still got a point. River Plate and Boca Junior (and to some extend Estudiantes de la Plata) got the majority of all the experienced players who have proven themselves already, while the smaller teams are full of youngsters with lots of potential. Last week, Boca played 1-1 against Vélez Sársfield (if I remember correctly), where some youngster (Escudero) broke free up from, dribbled past a few boca defenders, and banged it in. You don't see that often from the smaller teams in the rest of the world

IM comparing him with messi - he's not hyped at all in the media. What I've said about him, is nothing I've read in the newspapers or on the internet. It's my own opinion. I suggest you take a look at him before judging, and I bet you'll be suprised.
