One of my cats didn't come for its breakfast this morning (the darker one with the patch on its face). Now I know why. My neighbour has kindly put her in my back garden for me in a plastic bag, I know I have to say goodbye, but what do I do with her?

I'm finding this very hard because the street outside my house is too tight to drive fast enough to kill a pet, so I want to murder the bastard who drove at that speed.

Sorry about that Tom. Bury her in the garden or take her to a vets to get her cremated.

:(

we dont let our cat out at the front, she has to make do at the back (although, she probably could find her way out to the main road..)

Awww sorry tom :(

It might not be the best of ideas to bury a dead cat in your garden, wouldn't that like.. bring lots of rats and stuff?

That's why you wrap it up in, well the bag would do, or an old pillow case is what we did with Pepi.

The garden proposal IS a good idea, especially if you can bury her in a favourite spot, as we did with Pepi.

*sniffle*,

sorry to hear that tom I know how hard it is to lose a pet in this way (i lost my cat in the similar circumstances a couple of years ago). :(

I would suggest that you bury him in the garden in a tin box. If you cant face this then you can pay for him to be cremated at the vets but it isnt cheap (although im sure he was worth every penny).

Keep a close eye on your other cat(s) as they do get very depressed when they lose a companion. They might go off their food for a while but try not to worry too much they do get over it eventually.

I buried her in the garden, about 2 feet down (clay below that). I'm going to plant some meadow flowers and berries on top.

My other cat is all alone now. She's been mewling all day long, I'm worried she'll get bored when I'm away working. :(

Plant something nice or edible. Dead stuff makes good compost.

Really sorry to hear this Tom. Although my cat was never found (he was beleved to have been stolen as he apparently was seen months after his disappearence), I appreciate what it is to lose a pet ;(.

It took Yin a couple of months to get over the loss of her brother, however we kept to of her kittens to keep her company.

Hey talking of which. My sister got a kitten for her 17th birthday at the beginning of May. It was the first pet she'd ever taken responsibility for entirely on her own, and was an insanely cute thing. Long story short, a month after she got it, it had to be put down due to having "overlarge kidneys", or something. It took her a couple of weeks to stop crying. Hohum.

Thats sad Tom. You'll have to get a new kitten to keep your other cat company though.

Well, I had to work today (didn't want to really), but I've decided that I'm going to get her some company when I finish this series I'm doing, around the end of July. A nice ickle kitten she can take care of (hopefully).

On a lighter note, and probably the first time I laughed without any guilt today, I got propositioned by Vera Duckworth. It might be on LK Today on Monday morning.

I do like the fact that the blame MUST lie with the 'bastard' car driver, and not the stupid cat for running into the road.

No no no... It's just that the 'r' and the 't' key is so close together.

Stupid cat.

I'm so sorry Tom, it must be heartbreaking.

And maybe people should find somewhere else to show how witty and irreverent they can be? It's always so sad when soemone shares something personal and upsetting that people just can't resist the urge to be amusing.
