I noticed loads of snails and slugs on the path outside and just thought lol.

Calculate speed of snail.
Calculate width of average car tire.

This is how long it takes the snail to clear a danger zone.


Calculate the average amount of cars that pass one point.
Compare that to slugs "crossing danger zone" speed.

This is how many cars cross the slugs path while in danger zone.

Then just calculate the possibility of a slug being on that danger zone at the time of a car passing and voila, probability of survival.

dunno, but pour salt on the bastards and they release mucas to get rid of it. Put enough on and they convert their whole body into mucas thus killing themselves.

Surely the question should be; Why did the snail and the slug cross the road?

Its possible. Slugs move faster than snails, so I'd put my money on the slug. During peak time, probably not very likely at all. Only way would be at night, on some rarely used motorway near Wales at about 3am

I'd have to say yes. Just consider the amount of roadworks that close off lanes if not whole sections of motorway, and consider who long those works sit there with no one working on them.
