Back bacon from my local butchers (cured in the back of the shop so no water in it)
Wholemeal bread
Butter (not gay margarine)

Mug of Tea

No sauces or any shite like that. Get decent bacon and butter, and you don't need any other crap.

You are right there actually, properly old style cured bacon and butter on quality bakers fresh bread is very hard to beat. As always, fresh and pure beats all.

even the crappiest bacon sarnie is lush, unless the bacon is burnt to a crisp

Cheapo bacon is always too salty for my liking, the curing method they use with loads of water kills the taste of the meat as well.

The king of king bacon butties always has some quality Irish white pudding on it, none of that black pudding crap. I love my trips to Dublin, first thing I do when I get there head to a greasy spoon cafe on the Crumlin Road and indulge my Irish sausage/bacon and white pudding addiction. :D

I haven't found a decent bacon that doesn't have too much water in it - even tesco finest has too much. Grilling seems to be the best way to deal with that though - frying is for suckers.

Right. The way to make an awesome bacon sandwich =

1 x Baguette
4 x Rashers of Streaky or Back Bacon. Must be Unsmoked, as smoked bacon is the bastard offspring of Satan and someone else pretty damn evil. I'm thinking your average Safety camera Van operator.
2 x Egg.

Unless you're in Scotland, in which case raplce the baguette and the egg with a floury Morning roll and a bit of Lorne Sausage.

No sauce.
No butter.
No rabbit food.

And definitely no fucking Mayonaids.

That is the Bacon Buttie gospel according to me. All unbelievers will get their just deserts in hell.

lol :)

By the way - the fact that you prefer your bacon unsmoked just goes to show what a total and utter fairy you are.

The problem is that 99% of supermarket smoked bacon is utter dogshit, you just can't beat bacon smoked the old way which unfortunatly is pretty hard to get hold of in most cities.

Yeah you're right, but Tesco Finest oak smoked streaky is pretty damn good.

If you grill it.

It isn't bad to be fair, the problem is when you have been to the west coast of Ireland or certain remote parts of the UK and had locally farmed bacon smoked by the farmer himself in the same way his great great great grandfather did a couple of hundred years ago. Then you realise how much supermarkets and mass production has been fucking with our food.

I can't seem to get away with grilling it for some reason, always prefer frying it, I like the taste better and the smell makes me all the more hungry and makes the end result so much more satisfying.

Also my one anyways.

Rather long finger bun, 4 rashers, smoked, some fried mushrooms, a small bit of ketchup, with lots of pepper. Also throwing in scrambled egg sometimes works (Not always).

im pretty sure brown is for sausage, red for bacon.

one round of decent white bread, butterd with red sauce

Utter balls

Even the bloody bird on the HP sauce advert puts it on her bacon buttie.

Red sauce is for sausages, brown is for bacon. Obviously both sauces are for whatever you want but traditionally its been red for sausages and brown for bacon.

Could this forum be any more wrong ever in the life of wrong things?

Find your nearest high street butcher shop - if its a good one (like mine) the bacon is cured locally, and you'll get no water in it. Costs slightly more, but only very slightly. Will taste 1000% better, and does not shrink in the oven/pan

Are you seriously telling me there are no Butcher's anywhere in NW London? I live in the arse end of nowhere and I have two within walking distance of my house. I'd have about 5 if I could be arsed to walk the 5 minutes into town. I only do that when I'm going to be too pissed to drive home.

Four strips of bacon burnt to a crisp, in a soft white bun, with flour still on the top, butter lathered on inside and filled with tomato sauce, so that when you take a bite it comes out the sides.

There is a reason why I gained 3 stone in 2 months, this might have been it.

Golden Rule - Dont use Danish bacon because it tastes of fish!!!

(They use tons of fish meal to raise their pigs over there)

You probably got itchy balls because you use red sauce on your bacon butties.

Try your local high street or market. I bet there will be one very close by, you just won't have noticed it.

Once you've had proper butcher's meat, you won't go to the supermarket ever again.

I'm sure I can find a butchers, I just assumed it wouldn't be as good as your average country bumpkin butcher shop.

It may be a bit of a challenge to find a non halal local butcher shop though :)

Once you've tasted bacon/meat direct from the farmer rather than butcher, you'll never go back to the butcher or supermarket! :p

I don't usually eat stuff that makes your heart die, but if I did it would be constructed as follows:

White floury morning roll.
2 Slices of tesco finest canadian maple cured bacon.
1 large slice of black pudding.
Ketchup.

All grilled. No lard from a tub.
