return to WAR?

mythic/goa come on aint it about time that you pulled ya finger out and sorted out the issues so that those of us that have put war on the back burner can return and play the game that we waited for, for so long?


i come back to these forums every few days or so, just hoping that im gonna see the thread that says come back its sorted but i never do


funny thing is the longer im away doing/playing other stuff, the more im wondering whether i will bother to go back to war, i wonder, how many other peeps are feeling like me too, i know a few irl friends do.

I heard that on the PTS there are some very nice performance enhancements, as well as UI improvements etc.

According to people the game should run better, look better and be more responsive, Although I cant confirm this because we in the EU are second class players and as such do not get a test server to add our feedback from (apparently our opinion doesnt count) so just have to wait and see.

And with the planned changes to RvR and the class tweaks should go a big way to fixing the glaring issues in the game.

I just find it pitifull they waste so much time on new classes when the game doesnt work in its fundamentals as it should. Mythic are kinda dumb imo.

People with high hopes are very hard to please. The slightest flaw is a major issue. The game will get better in time just as WoW did, just like Cammy did. patience will be rewarded.

I had good expectations of the game, but I didn't buy into the hype.
So far I'm having tremendous fun.
Just give the game time. Like the saying goes "Rome wasn't built in a day".

Less likely to have issues by playing on US servers as they're not run by a 3rd party. I'm sorely tempted to switch to Mythic's servers now and lose a month or so of play than in a few months time when I patience would run out with GOA anyway.

If I had less time invested into my GOA hosted chars I'd have already gone.

Besides I found the lower Tiers more fun so the prospect of starting again doesn't seem daunting to me.

What I find more annoying is that everyone raved about the us servers on Cammy yet only fecked off when the euro ones died. Why didn't you all role there for WAR it would save me having to read the same posts about US being better.

The game has issues, overall its fine and getting better. Although the major patching is incoming at some unspecified point in the future there have been numerous performance and event/content patches since launch. Despite GOA being lambasted on the forums, generally the service has been fine, most of the issues that people have with GOA are not related to their game-playing experience. Game experience issues are largely in Mythic's Inbox to sort.

Personally, I think if the game was for you, you'd already be back playing it. The people that claim to be waiting on patches or this fix or that fix are just making excuses. Its easier to say "Hey, this game is not for me" and just get on with whatever else it is that you have fun doing and absolutely nothing wrong with that at all.

A general rule of life that is worth applying: If you want to do something, you do it. Ignore what people say and the excuses they come up with. Look at the behaviour - thats where the truth of any matter is at.

im not on about any patching, goa actually improved alot on that perspective, but the total lack of competent people in customer service etc, everyone that played a Goa hosted game will know what i mean.

I bought the US version before my EU, i though our whole guild was going US, but some very good friends already bought the EU version so i decided to go with them.

its a fact that US servers are better. Many even have better pings, due to Goa's allover Europe routing, and also CS is a hell lot better, ohh and the fact that Goa just took another month's sub from my account, even though it was closed and cancelled the way it should be? some even been billed for the last 2 months that way. if i did that i would probably go to court for stealing?....

thats all i care about.... rest will be fixed eventually.

get yourself into a good guild and it doesnt matter that much where we play, we had 20 odd people online the other day on Orrud in our guild, groups were running, quests and scenarios and open rvr being done!

Our goal is to ensure that oRvR is the place where players can level the fastest, get the best items and overall, have a great time while doing it. It is supposed to be riskier, more challenging but ultimately, more rewarding than any other place within WAR.

So long as they do work on encouraging people out into Orvr then the game will take off. Though not half as much as it would have done if they hadn't put retarded scenarios into the game and the small matter of having an inept company spoiling it in Europe.

I do hope they improve the game enough to get me to come back as it has a lot of promise. Obviously the graphics are pretty dated and it runs like a hog but if the gameplay is good then this doesn't matter so much the "look and feel can be improved along the way. If the core is there then people will stick around. If its a series of queues and RP farming sessions then people lose interest pretty quick.

They really need to turn it around quickly and work very hard on fixing things that shouldn't have even made it through beta. Did nobody comment from beta on how damn awful the idea of scenarios is?

Oh and they either need to kick GOA into touch and take over the servers themselves or force them into providing a decent level of service. Surely there is a clause in their contract that states they lose the franchise if the persistently fail at providing anything near to an acceptable service?

I don't disagree that in some instances people have the right to be unhappy for example the cash being taken after cancellation.

However that issue has not effected me neither has any other issue I have.

I had a character on Prydwen during the crash, yes I might not have been level 50 with Ml10 kit. But I had myself a nice pot of gold and some nice artifacts levelling up. The game crashed and everyone went apeshit. I didn't I just let them sort it out and they did to a certain extent. I understand people invest time and money into playing these games but to be honest it is still just a game even though it is a hobby.

By all means complain but going on and on about it on the forums does not actually help, all it shows them is that in a massive pot of players two or three have problem and comlpain a lot.

Show me where they explained their decision to bill customers who specifically asked not to be billed and why they used an email address they didn't use before and havent used since to inform people of this.

Saying that they did it, is not the same as explaining WHY they did it.

More or less exactly my thoughts too Aiteal, got the US client downloading now from gamestop, I'd rather pay out now for the US game than stay with GOA who I've just lost all of my patience with. I only came to EU as a real life mate was trying to game out, he's gone back to Eve so I might as well move my arse to the US.

The only way i will come back is if they remove scenarios because lets be brutal they are what has ruined the Open RVR at the present time the game feels like a WoW clone only they did a terrible job at trying to make one.

MMORPGS have 1 shot and 1 shot only to make their mark in the industry and get off on the right footing and WAR has failed.

People are leaving in droves.

I fear the worst for this game if things don't pick up.

The RVR zones are empty on a daily basis only when a keep take is under way to you start to see the ants crawl out from the Scenarios

Just out of curiosity, about which Tier RvR are you talking?

I think not only is the question of Tier relevant here but also server, some servers are soooo quiet that open rvr is just none existent

There's T4 RvR most nights on Karak Hirn. I can only say most nights because I'm not around every night. Been some rather fun fights in the last week.
