the only way i will come back is if they remove scenarios because lets be brutal they are what has ruined the open rvr at the present time the game feels like a wow clone only they did a terrible job at trying to make one.

Mmorpgs have 1 shot and 1 shot only to make their mark in the industry and get off on the right footing and war has failed.

People are leaving in droves.

I fear the worst for this game if things don't pick up.

There's T4 RvR most nights on Karak Hirn. I can only say most nights because I'm not around every night. Been some rather fun fights in the last week.

Yes, but most of the time on Hirn one side runs away to an empty zone to pve the keeps.

Having played 4 servers, Hirn is easily the best of those for orvr in T4....tbh that really sums things up because it really is poor most of the time.

What GOA done wrong so far:
Account registration on first day.
Realm War pages took to long to add.
Changing all accounts subscription to automatic.

Maybe something else that i don't remember right now but most other problems is Mythics "fault".

There been quite nice oRvR on KEP. Zones being capped now and then (earlier it was a problem with not enough skirmish VP).
They need to fix the performance issue at fortress sieges, and let us see players further away than 5ft.

You never will, when was the last time you read a positive story in a newspaper? People like to bitch and will continue to do so, with or without good reason.

There's alot of people here saying "give it time", "look how long it took wow",
My question to you is why should we? WOW was blizzards first attempt at a mmo, Daoc was mythics first attempt at a open rvr mmo

WAR is NOT their first attempt at all, there are always teething problems but alot of these issues happened in daoc and its happening all over again
I for one am not going to pay for months, even years of beta testing a game

dont subscribe until the game is fixed, thats what i am doing anyway

WAR had one shot to blow wow out of the water, and it has failed
WOTLK is a very good expansion for what it is, and wow is slowly adding open rvr concept to compete with the likes of daoc and war so it will be an interesting time to see how the population balances out.

Wow PvP has always been shit from day 1. Also, they didn't deliver *any* of the open world PvP promises they made back in beta and *still* haven't. Wintergrasp is just a bigger variation on their failed attempts in the original gameworld. Already on various servers people are complaining not enough go there.

WotLK is too easy, most people are finishing off the new content and are hitting the rep grind already. We'll be seeing some of those back in WAR soon too. I subscribe to both games but WoW PvP licks the sweat from the armpits of WAR. Its PVE is nice enough.

Quoting WoW in comparison to WAR/DAoC is comparing apples to orange mobile phones.

I agree to a point that Mythic have dropped the ball but not completely. Their interface was dreadful and the user experience in the opening moments of WAR was that of a sloppy unfinished application despite having some great touches. They have fixed the major issues just as the game is hitting critical mass for endgame which will bring some players back and keep some playing.

WAR failed? No, not by a long shot. It could have been more successful though.

Mythic don't know what made RvR great in DAoC so I don't think they'll ever fix it. They might make it better but not great. They should hire some old DAoC players who can tell them IMO.

WOW was made from the ground up as pve game, and it excells at it
There has always been open pvp in wow, problem is that there is no point to it so noone does it

Thats a ridiculous analogy that has no relevance to my point
Comparing war to daoc is like comparing the release of a new orange company to the release of a new apple company
They are in a similar sector, as such the success of their launch can be compared like for like

As i said i will wait for them to fix the problems before i pay another penny, but i am not convinced they can

WAR failed? No, not by a long shot. It could have been more successful though.
I didnt say that, i said war failed to blow wow out of the water by building on the warhammer lore to gain fans
and i am very accurate in that assessment based on subscriptions

The analagy was indeed ridiculous. That was kinda the point ;)

If you recall from the pre-launch blogs Mythic were never trying to blow WoW out of the water. WoW is too big a monster for anyone to directly take on atm. They might secretly wish they could, but so probably does every competitor. They're realistic enough to know not to bother at the moment.

WoW PvE is nice. The dungeons are very nice.

I play on a PvP server and the world PvP has in over 4 years only been ganking people that are XP'ing aside from very occasional 'event' type outings. I've organised world PvP and its been dreadful - get more than 100 people in a zone and the world server goes down. How do I know this? My events have crashed our server on at least 3 occasions and in the end I gave up, despite making it into the Community Events mainpage for the stuff I organised. I used to do stuff like organise city assaults (We killed the all bosses in all the Alliance cities in one night on one event, server died several times).

PvP is shoehorned into WoW as something else to do, rather than something that you can focus on as an endgame (outside of arenas in which case you might as well play a proper FPS).

There are no meaningful rewards - Blizzard openly focus on character items as the reward (and only reward) system for players.

So yes, WoW is a PvE game with a bit of PvP. WAR is a PvP game with a bit of PvE. Apples, orange mobile phones.
