The problem with the templars is they wrap to tight a leash round the people in the guild in my opinion, you question them and you are wrong in all their eyes. They give you a hard time and double cross you at any chance they can. Always is fun thou to get the behind the scenes look at what they really are like, they try to put on friendly, we are so great front when behind the scenes the truth is different.

Oh well.. That another one of them gone, few more need to go and maybe the guild will have more happy people in it. Hope that the people in it manage to scrape something together for themselfs as the officers dont do much for the guild anymore in my opinion.

And the moment Aeth gets a statue or anything to remember him by is the moment i either A) Quit the game. OR B) find i way to do what is best for it and deface it :)

<laughs his socks off> Sorry but :m00:

I have to love ex-Templars still having a pop at us. Makes you proud to be an Albion.

/gc quit
/go elsewhere to moan
/leave Templars to get on with having fun
/glad you are having fun elsewhere
/its only a bloody game FFS

(had no intention of posting here but some of these comments are really very funny indeed)

Please no.

Both Jupitus and Aeth were mean old tyrants and egotistical. Nothing wrong with it but don't think they deserve a statue.

If everything wasn't perfect Jupitus used to go absolute ape shit at the person he thought was at fault. PL wasn't even roleplaying in /gu, the templars had a stab at it but all they could manage was a hail (hello) and I must rest now (logging off).

In the templars, there was the odd couple who ran off into barns which was quite amusing, and you'd have a look in odd places and find players sitting there getting horny over their chars.

Maybe put a plaque up in a toilet somewhere but please, a statue of them no way.

They were not even good or great leaders, sure they lead a couple of reasonable raids but nothing special.

Imo Krillin lead the best raid for albion Ive ever been on, we took the three str relics, he brought albion and all its bitchyness together and executed a bloody smooth raid.

Pyro was a lovely leader, he was calm alot of the time and lacked every ounce of arrogance that a leader of what was the best rvr guild on pryd may have had. Another leader thats like this is Vayasen.

I nearly shed a tear when I heard pyro left, I will prob do the same if and when vay leaves.

& One order for a hrod doll pls.

The Templar guild roster lists someone with the name "Ubersmiter". Very rp-ish.

*feels like pouring gasoline on the flames/feels like random flaming*

The Templar with the surname "Questalot" always makes me giggle.

Ah, that's a bit unfair.

It's pretty hard for officers to notice what silly surnames a few people might decide to give themselves in a large guild like that.

<anecdote>

When I was a templar officer, I remember there also was a character (someone different, I think) with the surname UberSmiter, because I remember talking to him about why it was inappropriate.

He came up with a really inventive RPing type background reason for it! (Lo, I am a scion of the famous UberSmiter family, whose great great grandsire was rewarded with the title by Caesar himself after singlehandedly beating off the Huns at the battle of etc etc. Or something like that.) I wasn't convinced, but I was impressed at the effort ;)

</anecdote>

(You can now continue with the slagging off session)

Not that hard.

Went to homepage - scrolled down the roster - and lookee here.

Not just Ubersmiter.. there were more retarded names.
Quantity = Quality? Believe me, I certainly don't judge the whole guild by some silly names. Just thought it was - funneh. ;)

Oi! I suggested this first (em sulks)

I still think a roll of honour scroll is the best way to remember anyone who makes an impact on the game whether it is good, bad or ugly.

And for all those putting forward the oh my god Aeth was a twat argument - I said in my opinion, ie in my own personal dealings with him he was never anything but nice, kind, fair etc.

Just cos all your egos couldn't cope with each other ain't my fault or my problem ;)

Glad you enjoy it so much ;) Probably one of the reasons why *anything* said by *any* ex-templar gets taken as a flame or an insult. It's a fine templar tradition to have two settings - asleep or hissy-fit.

I'm quite happy to leave well alone but I really do object to that pathetic excuse of an officer, Lamont, posting his retarded conspiracy theories. The man is so creative he should write for the x-files, 'cept that his theories are too way out even for that show :p

I do :) I know the community of players here and, as I said in my (err 2nd :p) retirement post -- even those I don't particularly like I'm glad to have met and had the opportunity to dislike them :D

Am very much enjoying playing Shadowbane in the States tho, levelling is very easy (I have a level 50 and level 40 in 3 weeks of playing), and PvP (the best part of any game) is a necessary part of the game for all levels.

Some Americans tho ... ;) If people think I'm miserable and can be vocal with disapproval -- you've never played online games with Americans cos they *really* know how to flame.

Thankfully one can get ones own back in a PvP game :D

<Leaps on the flame bandwagon>
I think I can count the number of people in templars that even try to roleplay on the fingers of one hand. That's pretty poor for a guild with a couple of hundred members that purports to being a roleplaying guild. And I'm not talking about in group chat here, I mean in public /say.

Also I agree with Esoteric, Pyro is definitely one of the best leaders I've seen, his patience and ability to remain calm is bordering on the inhuman. ;)

Best not comment on the Gideon statue, he'll kick my arse IRL. :p

<chuckle> Or a few selected ex-Templars keep trying to have a go instead of moving on. Funny how few guilds evoke such reaction ....

And yes, I do enjoy a right good laugh 'cause this is all it is. As I repeatedly say to all they get so damn serious : its a f*cking game! Repeat .. a game. Looks around at all that did not hear .. a game - pixels on the screen.

If you do not get on with someone IN-GAME, go elsewhere, /ignore etc. Bloody ego's are magnified by this environment 10 fold.

I _seriously_ doubt many who espouse the "I hate xxx" mentality would do so if they met the person concerned IRL. Likewise, many you think are "right good people" turn out to be utter twats IRL that you would happily never speak to again for good reason.

Judging people by the actions of their pixels and the crap text interface that Mythic deemend suitable for a PRG game is laughable. More "hissy" fits have been caused by total misunderstandings than I can count.

.. <sigh> why bother ... <goes away to think about rasing his crafting from 50>

I think I know why the Templars and ex-Templars have such a hard time with each other and seem to have such major and bitter arguments....

You're all roleplayers arent you?

You're artistes!!! (and we all know what temperament artistes have)

Moved on -- found a guild that I felt at home with -- and now moved to a new game.

But it does stick in my throat that one of your fellow officers has written such a pile of half-truths and lies on your forum a number of times now concerning myself and a few other ex-templars.

Any reply that I make is treated as a flame, and keeping my own counsel is treated as cowardice or acceptance of his Lamont-able (sic) comments.

I also consider it rather off that real life information that good Ethel had about myself was used to flame me on Barrysworld and on your own forums.

As you say this is a game and shouldn't be taken so seriously -- you may like to communicate that fact to some of your fellow officers.

Oh and for Pathfinders benefit .... :m00:
