Retirement of legends

I thought this a while back, when one of Albions all time legends left us- Lord Jupitus.

However, now we have two legendary retirements, now that Lord Aethelstan Ironhand has returned to tending his estates forever, and the thought comes to my mind again.

It was said, by GOA, that they were prepared to make legendary status of certain people if they performed certain legendary roleplaying acts. I can think of no two worthy people than the two mentioned, who, upon retirement, deserve recognition in the Prydwen Albion world.

Both have led huge and important guilds. Both have led keep take and relic raids, both have had huge parts to play in the lore of our realm.

I think it is time that GOA acted upon their promise, and made a lasting tribute to these early pioneers, that led two great guilds in Albion, and made statues to them in Camelot, Prydwen, or some such lasting monument.

For those who wish to agree, or merely to show appreciation for
all that these two retired legends of Albion/ Prydwen have done, leave a message below.

There are of course others, no less worthy of hero status, that I think it is about time GOA got around to making immmortal.

Rather than a statue, how about a roll call of names in the Church in Camelot or something?

Would maybe be a bit out of keeping with the general feel of Camelot itself (ie there is just the one statue/gravestone of King Arthur in Arthur's Garden) to have statues cos they'd just look like a grey coloured player if they were to resemble Jup and Aeth.

Personally I got on great with both Jup and Aeth and would like to see their impact recognised with something in game but something that's not in your face, cos I don't think either of their DAoC personas was like that.

Both were big men who carried through ideals etc but they did it quietly, calmly and without ego (In my view anyways, some of you may have different opinions).

A roll of honour scroll somewhere in Camelot would fit in better I think ;)

Little you know about our dear friend Aethelstan. I'm not going to start digging up old things, all I say is that a little you know my friend :(

Hmmm... statues in camelot i think dont fit, and having them out on the open plains wont either... IF you really insist on something like this i think it should only be allowed to happen inside the land the guild owns for guild housing. And accollon, what some people see as a hero other people see as a..... well lets not go there. But it wrong for a game company to show people as great when there some things that people done which were clearly out of order in the past, and believe me, there are some behind the scenes stuff you know nothing about. However none this matters. As said, if guild wants to recognise someone that led them etc sure, but dont throw it in the face of the entire realm.

They should name really low level mobs after them that every newbie could farm. :)

Agree about the ideals and such, but I'd have to say that 'quiet', 'calm' and 'without ego' are NOT three things I would associate with Aethelstan ;)

<edited to laugh a lot at Visit's suggestion. I'd vote for that! >

A worthy suggestion, I'd like to see if GOA keep this promise!

The Abbey behind North-Camelot gates seems very lonely, and they could do with a couple of new arrivals. Brother Aethelstan and Brother Jupitus ;)

Is this possible? From what I gather any changes (like statues in Camelot) on one server would have to be on the other servers too.
