Do you think these people leave their homeland (whats left of it), friends and family to travel hundreds, if not thusands, of miles (often on foot) and risk death for fun? You quite clearly have not got a clue what you are on about. That or you really are the xenophobic racist asshole you come accross as. A friend of a friend helps rehome and help these people in Glasgow. One guy walked over 1,000 miles with a woden leg (he lost it when his home was shelled). His home had been destroyed and most of his family killed. I bet you have no idea how that feels as you sit in your comfy house and play games (probably paid for by your parents anyway). Niether do I, thank god, but at least I try to have some understanding. You need to spend less time sitting on your arse using your computer and take a look at the real world.

Hmm. The asylum seekers in Pollokshaws were placed in the high rise flats along with the druggies and dolemunchers. Not the best location to live, but the government spend out tax money on redocorating and installing all the latest kitchen appliances.
Ive seen them been delivered before the people arrived and its no wonder the locals get jelous of the preferential treatment that they recieve.

I have nothing against GENUINE asylum seekers, they are fine.
Its the illegal ones that bug me. And as for them earning £0.50 an hour, whats your point?
If they had went through the proper channels they would have an NI number and got a proper job.
I used to work with a guy who came to Britain as a legitamate asylum seeker and now he has a genuine job to finance his degree in prosthetics, with which he will return home to help landmine victims.
Thats the kind of person i dont object to. Someone who is here for a reason rather than to scrounge.

Ok we had a bunch of kosovan refugees put in our little town, while they weren't stealing from the shops and gambling other peoples money in the arcades they were out attacking and raping women, or in the nightclubs stabbing the locals. And that was the majority of them not just a few. And they were being given our hard earned cash. I don't care what anyone says thats just not right.
I've heard of cases where imigrants are coming over here just to breed so they can claim family allowances and whatever else the government decides to give them. We give them our soldiers is that not enough for these people. I don't care what any of you say asylum seekers are very rarely genuine and the ones that are are just gonna have to live with it, like that guy said "some people just get dealt a bad hand in life, those that overcome it are truly heroic"

yes horus^ i did also hear that flats that were boarded up had had new decor and new white goods fitted in the kitchens, when the locals could not get a tradesman to fix a stair light. this was bad planning by the ppl in charge and also where did the money come from ?. but that's by the by.

heard on the news this morning that some Iraqis are suing for compensation cos they were locked in a detention centre while their claim was processed which they reckon violates their human rights. The reason they were locked up tho is that it was really obvious they weren't genuine so they thought they'd keep em held there and process it really fast to send em away again.

So, either you let them into the community where the bogus ones can disappear without trace or you lock them up and get sued.

The system needs a complete overhaul methinks
