Ordered mine a few days ago :) Not been as excited about a new toy for a long time.

I have zero experience with Linux, but always wanted to play so figured this would be a good opportunity - and I like the idea of using it as a Media Player :)

Is anyone doing anything more interesting with it that I might be able to play around with ?

Just had an email saying mine's shipped. I think dinosaurs were still walking the Earth when I ordered it.

Still waiting on mine. I can't believe it's only been 5 weeks, it feels like a millennia.

I got the Raspberry Pi bundle from Maplin as a birthday present. It only took about 3 days to arrive. It's now sitting in my room running XBMC. :)

Fuck you and your well thought out decision.

I didn't know Maplin were stocking them :( They kept that quiet.

I then sincerely hope you get the 512MB RAM version that they've just spoken about because I know that I'm pissed off they've changed it again. Mostly because the audio/video codecs are tied to the board number.

Got mine delivered this morning from RS it is not the REV B and does not have the 512MB. A quick email to RS let me know that I can send this one back and re order but I will go to the back of the queue again.

I can't really see why there is so much interest in this.

Perhaps I just can't see why you would need one or use it for.

Set it up last night, got OpenElec onto the SD card and it works like a charm. Now I just need to learn all the buttons on the (iPhone) remote (which was clearly designed by someone with high functioning autism) and tidy up my media files properly (I've got naming and directory conventions all over the place) and I'm good to go.

I am using RASPBMC which is on v12 of XBMC so mine has now lost the HTTP server by the looks of it meaning none of my Apps work. OpenElec here I come.

Only problem I found with OpenElec is it does not connect to my shared library on the PI. Instead it creates a new xbmc_video_6x database. I have found the Pi tolerable for tv shows but for HD movies I still boot my Revo so the shared library is a must for me.

There was something somewhere about shared libraries. I think OpenELEC is capable of reading/storing the library elsewhere if you replace the directory with a network symlink. I'll try and dig out the info if I get 5 minutes but I think it was either on the XBMC or OpenELEC wiki.

Yeah I have it shared via MySQL but the RPi does not connect to the same video library as the one on my revo. It has something to do with XBMC builds being different across the two OpenElec installs.

That would explain it. Have you tried Trakt? Basically it's like last.fm but for TV. Not sure but I think it will allow you to "sync" your watched information on every boot so you might be able to watch on A then when you turn on B it might be possible to retrieve the what has/hasn't been watched info and update library B.

I'm pretty sure the API allows bi-directional, I'm just not sure if the XBMC plugins can be configured that way.
