I can multitask fine. I also work out time and motion studies for my next task while performing the current one so that any tasks which can be done concurrently are arranged so that I spend as little time twiddling my thumbs as possible. Simple example, start the hot tap running when taking out the rubbish so that I can wash my hands with hot water after without waiting for it to heat up. Once you;'ve really thought about tasks it's surprising how many can be done at the same time.

That's not mulit-tasking... it's linear time critical analysis, in my view.

Sorry for being picky, but I saw your name and thought I was going to be treated to your post being:

That is yeh. Different point. Anyhow. I hate being on the phone to someone and not being near a PC or a pile of washing cos I know I can maintain a conversation and do light housework or browse the web at the same time. Wasted time if I do it on it's own

I get the impression, and not just from this thread, that people think; male brain = single task, female brain = multi-task exclusively. Men do have a tendency to use a single step process, women more routinely multi-task, but they use both thought processes all the time. I think the exception is Autism, some people believe this is an extreme version of the male brain.
Also, gender differences have been noted on young children, at an age before culture can have an impact - so there is a definite difference there.

Jeesus. I really should have kept up with this thread. But the toilet seat thing is a pet hate of mine.

Women shouldn't expect men to put the toilet seat down any more than men should expect them to put it up after they're finished. If you sit on the porcelain then you're fucking blind! It's nothing to do with politeness at all. It's picky shit - I have pr00f!

Watched a tv thing about etiquette about 6 months ago - women vs. men thing. They had a woman from some posh finishing school for teh posh ladies answering all sorts of questions. - She was very down to earth tbh, I was surprised.

Anyway - a few of the women on the show harped on about the toilet seat thing and immediately all the men standing about looked hen-pecked and shifty and inordinately guilty (without saying anything).

Funny as fuck when this women told the rest of them that they were being overly picky and asked them why should they expect men to put the seat down when men don't moan about the other way round?

/vindication ON. (If only I could find a link!)

I've got a mate who routinely puts the seat and the lid down so at least his g/f has to lift the lid. :D

OK, i've decided to add my experiences to this thread.

Once upon a time, i went shopping with this girly ('twas decided the night before whilst drunk, so fner) . So we decide to go into a clothes shop and look for some new stuff for her. Not only does she spend about a half hour looking for an armfull of stuff, but also spends about another half hour trying it all on. This, unforunately went on for about three hours. :(

When it was my turn, i saw one new garment, tried it on, and bought it. In and out in about 10 minutes.

Toilet seat, i don't give a fuck, when i need to go, i just go. If it's up or down. If i make a mess, i clean it up.

The que thing, i've never really noticed, i allways thought it was based on the individual. This bloke one time (at band camp!), was infront of me and bought a load of alcohole, when it came to packing, the transaction had finished. He not only slowly opened the back, but put each individual bottle in, one by one. I wanted to kill.

The farting thing, my mum does it all the time, and laughs hysterically after. I even have burping competitions with her, to the annoyance of my dad. :)

Oh, and women can't drive. :)
