Can you automatically switch off images on a specific site? I'm getting mightily pissed off with Youtube channels putting spoilers in their graphics for shows on the morning they come out before anyone's even watched.

Also can 99% of the Formula 1 channels on Youtube just fuck off? There are like, two, that are worth watching, the rest are just made-up noise and bad AI.

I think U-Block Origin can do that as it has an option to block images, scripts and other elements per site.

I think you're getting into the realm of CSS tweaks or userscripts via a manager like Violentmonkey. Example, although that one doesn't seem to be able to hide thumbnails.

Murder of my guinea fowl has transferred from Buzzards to a female Goshawk.

Two nights attack in a row. About 8pm. Means I have to spend the next 5 nights standing in a field from 7:30pm-9pm waving my hands about and making loud noises

So having a wank in ya back garden? Surely you can build a hide and get hold of a gun or crossbow and have a bit of fun? Remember, it's the only way to be sure :)

Ears being blocked by wax (again) so much so that one ear suddenly goes completely dull, with something pressing on my eardrum. Having to sleep through it, and spend half a day at work. And then paying for it to be cleared out - omg the relief. £60 well spent.

This is pretty much a permanent state of affairs for me now and when I went to a specialist he basically said there's fuck all they can do. However, more recently a doctor has suggested my constant ear infections are actually due to allergic reaction to...something, and so I'm about to start on an allergy test regime.

I'm getting ear infections. Headphone use.

They asked me to cut down on use - especially at work. I said I could probably trim it to 8 hours a day.

I thought it was headphones. I gave up in-ears years ago, and about six months ago went to bone conduction so nothing goes in or over my ears. Made absolutely no difference.

Have you considered the fact that you're just old, and all those warnings are coming home to roost?

Also, I have exceptional selective deafness in my left ear.

Why would being old suddenly give me ear infections? Going deaf anyway, sure, but that's not what this is.

How is bone conduction then? Qualitatively speaking.

Not that I could get them to work with work's laptops...

It's fine but you can't really do much about volume, so if I'm say, mowing the lawn, they don't work that well, but for day to day stuff and quieter activity like riding a bike they're excellent.

Yeah, I've never seen wired versions so I'm not sure what you'd do about work, but ironically I'd got to the point where I only ever used headphones in the office; if I'm working from home I use speakers and the webcam mic.

Yeah. Me too. But they've mandated 3 days a week in the office - and these ear infections have magically coincided with that.

So ear infections and 30 hours a month of my life I'm never getting back.

No wonder I'm quiet quitting. They can take the job and fuck it off to China, but they won't get anything but bare minimum professional out of me any more.

I don't mind going in that much; I'm starting a new job on Wednesday and it's two days a week and the commute is short so it's fine. My wife's job insists on three days (bank) but she can check in to any of their offices so she goes to a nearby branch two days a week and her actual office one day. It's absolutely fucking stupid because she's on exactly the same Teams calls as if she was sat at home.

When a woman who looks vaguely familiar pops up in your Facebook feed and you realise (weeks later) that it's one of your college mates (twice married, five kids) who's jumped on the trans-train. And I can't even be bothered to do more than eye-roll and move on. He always was utterly self-absorbed so I shouldn't be surprised.

We have an entire department (mostly international sales) that come into the office a few times a month, despite being based all over the country, to do exactly the same thing that they would be doing from home, except at a hot desk, rather than the convenience/set up of a home office. It boggles my mind.

Personally, I prefer working in the office, but for certain roles it's completely pointless.

Office working should be reserved for fucking hot days and only if suitable aircon is provided. I am sat at home turning into a melting candle, I should set up the vent for my portable aircon but I just know the moment I do the phone will go off for me to go pickup my son, daughter, 1 x grandchild, 1 x ex-wife from the train station (they are spending the day in London lol).
