I fucking hate clock changes. Feel like dogshit this morning.

Every year. On a population level it must cost us so much in lost productivity.

So the US changes much earlier than the rest of the world, and we have this strange twilight zone where the time difference with the UK is only 4 hours for 3-4 weeks. It makes a mess of everyone's calendar. They're looking at removing it entirely in the US, which I think is the right move. Either permanent DST, or none at all.

Didn't notice it until I got in the car, and the clock was right.

I think they should just put it forward an hour from now and then leave it alone. It would be dark for fewer rush hours, fewer people will need a light on. Winter is a write-off for daylight, so who cares.

So, I noticed one of my guinea fowl was lying down this afternoon. Bit weird, but then a couple of others were. I figured she might be asleep.

Went out a couple of hours later, she was still there. So went over to have a look - she'd just started producing eggs and had prolapsed her guts out of her backside, with a half formed egg through there. A few of the other guineas looked liked they'd been up to have a peck.

Went to try to grab her and she ran away from me - trailing her guts. That must have hurt. But she hit a fence, so I managed to grab her, unweight her guts a bit and get her back to the house where "tools" were available. The poor fucker pretty much started to die of uncontrollable pain just as I was handed a knife.

Blood all over my shoes too.

Well. At least dinner tomorrow night will be nice.
