The main issue with buses being caught in congestion is a lack of protected facilities at junctions. Bus lanes end before the junction, so they have to wait with all the other traffic. We need more dedicated lanes for buses so they can skip all the traffic and continue.

Street View · Google Maps Funnily enough that one has since been replaced by a protected cycle junction (part of the Chorlton Cycleway).

Dedicated bus lanes in sheff. The bus was moving freely.

But rather than just getting to where it was going it was sat, multiple times, stationary - just so it'd hit the timetable.

During rush hour there's a bus every 5 minutes or so. They should just get people to tgeir destination as fast as possible. People won't have to wait long to get the next one if the miss it - and we'd reduce the journey time for passengers during rush hour.

During non rush hour they need to hit timings because of the lower availability of buses.

Regardless, it was still uncomfortable, took me far enough away from my destination that I was pretty damn wet by the time I made it to the office.

I'm not anti-public-transport - but ultimately it's still a bit fucking shit :)

Tel Ms Overdriven that I will use that title with the honour it deserves, thank you.

Hardly ever at junctions, which is where congestion tends to occur. And buses should stick to a timetable, because departing early is just as bad as departing late.

Could you please inform Ms Overdriven that I have only accidentally clicked on it maybe a couple of dozen times.

We are quite lucky where the traffic is pretty good around here, and the buses have full dedicated lanes in town. It's just the route planning is crap. I was amazed at how good the transport was in Oxford, the satellite park and ride stations are great, and act as mini stations.

Nope. Not if one comes around every 6 or 7 minutes in the morning (as they do). Might as well just ship people as quickly as possible.

In the day it's much more important to be "on time" - because you don't want people waiting 30 minutes because you flew through 5 minutes early. But in the morning, if you can knock 15 minutes off their commute...

Po po locking people up they don't like. In this case, a press photographer. Twice. And it got to court, twice. And it was thrown out twice.

So it's not just the po po - it's the CPS doing the police's bidding, rather than going "there's no realistic chance of conviction here".

Waste of taxpayers money, oppressive and bent system.

Just installed my new graphics card, psu and gubbins. Realised that I had mis assigned drive letters, and rather than installing my current games onto the stupidly fast M2 whatever SSD, I have been installing them to a normal SSD, for the last 18m - 2 years. The superfast SSD has been looking after porn though, to be fair.

Don't forget to turn EMS on.

I called someone a HPB while gaming a while back and not one person on the server understood it.

It's not something that has been used a great deal for a while, but it goes against the grain for PC gaming.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is on there, but no idea if the upgraded version still uses it.

Edit, the Metro series too, also recently updated (again cba to find out if they use it)

Dentists and up selling.

Went my 6 monthly check up go through it everything the same as before, where I was told my teeth and gums were fine. (she was telling this to the nurse)

Suddenly oh noes there's a small amount of plaque build up around 2 teeth so you need to book in the hygienist at like 45 quid for 15 mins or something.

Fuck off.

The hygienist has always been a thing, and well worth it. PS, you're slowly lurching into old man territory, like the rest of us. Do everything you can to look after your teeth.

I went to the hygienist a couple of years ago and ever since thanks to flossing and water flossing my tegs are sound.

I've been going to the same dentist all my life (NHS dentist lul) Dad ran it back in the day more or less as a 1 man band.

Kids took over made it a larger business with plans and lots of up selling, son has a '24 M4 with private reg on the front. Kick in the... teeth?

Anyone that argues the benefits of the privatisation of the NHS needs to see what a con the dentist is, it's an essential service though, and not a great deal of choice.

There should be minimum speed limits in supermarkets on weekends.

Or ban pensioners
