Not sure if it's the same over there but it seems like the days of 100% cotton sport socks are gone. Everything has some polyster/elastane/nylon/someothermaterialthat'sreallyjustanotherformofplastic blend![]()
Where? I've been looking at the Nike/Adidas standard stuff I've always used and they only have the blends now. Had I known this back in 201...5? I'd have stocked up!Most have elastane but you can get only cotton.

All other socks are utterly shite in comparison.
Comfy and less smelly than cotton socks. But wool is less smelly still, warm even when wet, cool in the summer.I love my Rayon bamboo socks.
Let me guess you are kitting out the garden for a flock of sheep to save on buying wool clothing, of course I do not expect you to take up knitting, will refer that to Mrs Scouse.Comfy and less smelly than cotton socks. But wool is less smelly still, warm even when wet, cool in the summer.
Over the last decade or so I've slowly become a wool evangelist. It's a miracle material and criminal that we make clothes out of oil and plastics.
I have absolutely no idea what my socks were made from, but as they're mostly ankle socks from Next I doubt it's anything posh. They generally perform more than adequately as socks however.
Just a shame they are such a pain in the arse to get to stay on a clothes horse when you want to dry them.
Meanwhile somewhere in your house there's a cat created fire hazardI get whatever they are made from, from Tesco, they last about a year, until they mostly go missing, then I buy more.
Proper wool for camping/walking though.
