Doubt I could live anywhere, and enjoy it, but Copenhagen. Sure Valencia was amazing and I enjoy travelling, but nothing compares to Copenhagen. Guess memories weigh a lot

But, having grown up there, Leicester must be pretty high on your list...?

I like Norway and Sweden. Yes, they're expensive, but they both seem so sorted.

Can't talk to Sweden as have never been, but have spent a lot of time in Norway, lovely place, with fantastic people, but could never live there.

Far too expensive, far too highly taxed, and the thought of having to go to a state run shop yo buy Booze sends shivers down my spine.

Also reliably informed thr good old Law of Jante is alive and well there, which would definitely make it a big No from me.

Fantastic scenery however, and worth visiting just to see that lemmings are actually a thing - albeit a very small and furry one.

This years EId celebrations in Birmingham.
Used to love Eid when I lived in Bradford. Festival-o-rama. Great food. Lovely happy celebrating people :)

I guess that's not your point tho. I guess you were scared, or something?

Eid is fucking great, where I used to live there was a couple of muslim families that would pile food on you.

'What's for dinner tonight mum?'

'Waiting and hoping that Mrs Seedat will drop us some'

'YAY!'

But yeah, @Job is racist, so who cares.

What a pointless waste of human life :(

I don't know.

I have a friend who does it, and it's definitely on the backburner but everyone knows him as the 'hare-krishna guy' it looks like ridiculous fun if you're into that kinda thing.

Stuffs expensive in NZ and aus cause its so far for it to be transported to get there. So cost of living is higher.
You'll be a shitload closer to the Asiamarkets where most cool stuff comes from.

Not seen you post any scary pictures of christian gatherings ever.

Post some Coptic Christian singing vids. They're amazing but brown. Prolly highly skilled, well educated plumbers with super low rates too. Job would have an embolism :)

All religious bullshit can be ridiculous fun if you buy into the bullshit. Killing and maiming unbelievers can be absolutely ridiculous fun if you think god's for it.

There's also ridiculous fun stuff you can do that doesn't perpetuate belief in sky-fairies and sometimes (though often not) can even be helpful and constructive to mankind.

Playing a musical instrument, twatting on a tambourine and being in a non-religious band or simply running about trying to make people happy is better than that crap.

Anyway - the choice of Theresa May or Andrea Leadsom for next PM.

Either an authoritarian ECHR-removing privacy-abolishing surveillance Nazi or an anti-gay christian fox-hunting re-instater.

Fucking whup de do. Britain lurches HARD right :(

I don't mind the taxes, don't mind the cost of living (chances are if you worked over there you've been recruited for skills that make you worth paying) but I do agree about the Law of Jante thing; I'm not one for groupthink, but unfortunately it does seem to be one of the things that makes the Scandinavian social model work; I just don't think as an individualistic Anglo-Saxon I could cope with it.

A friend described it as like deciding what colour paper to wrap a grenade in before delivering it to a children's party. Either option is going to be horrific :(

I do not see much of this in Stockholm, Oslo or Copenhagen and I work in all three... Yes when I discuss strengths and weaknesses with my employees, I get more negatives than positives... But saying I am good at something is not frowned upon.... The most annoying thing I have to work around is consensus... However when managed well over the years I have found it can be really beneficial :)

Bit of a sore point, illegal christian war and all.
I'll stick to muslims and moonies till the dust settles.

Just had a look at cashing in my final salary pension....holy fucknuts, what a minefield of consequences, it is practically a game of chess between you and the government/pension fund.
So then I checked on my state pension elligibility...then things started getting silly, even the frickin government don't know what you will get...its a chaotic mix of age/breaks/employer optouts/gender and the price of prunes in Thailand.
And they say they have simplified it.

Look at attitudes to things like ownership of expensive cars etc. particularly in Denmark. Tall poppy syndrome is definitely a thing.
