We were robbed by an idiot ref who was probs getting a back hander. poor Sol Campbell, how can the same sh*t happen to the same guy twice?? The goal was perfectly good, the linesmen thought so, the english players thought so, the portugese thought so, everyone in the stadium except that git ref who was miles away from the ball thought it was a good goal, the ref bottled it, he let fouls go and gave the Portugese the advantage every time. neither Terry nor Cambell did anything wrong, the keeper dived into them and wasnt going to get anywhere near the ball, man of the match was Ashley Cole imo, he was superb :worthy:

So you were shouting at the TV, and you are asking me if I am retarded? xD

And I agree, he is a fucking coward.

so we discovered its sven who makes england play shit defensive football, now think where svens from, and we have just found which country is cowards!

Are 90% of swedes retarded or is it just the ones who spend 23 hours a day at their computers. Disappointing really, I respect the Swedes but when you see retards like you it does sway your opinion a bit. :|

Well, no one respects you m8 so stop bothering us with your bs. I read some of it before, and tbh - that hurts.

Think Portugal were worthy winners and tough luck you lost the goal, but that's football for you. Decision was right, even though it was a tough one.

I am english and agree Portugal deserved to win, but that doesn't mean Portugal SHOULD have won. I can't see anything wrong with Englands 2nd goal tbh as can many others.

Nobody can, unless they are not English, then they all seem to think it was a foul :(

Not sure how you ppl consider the situation where an english player put his arm on the portugese goalkeepers shoulder (so he could not jump) a "legit" goal.. Even if the ball was in the goal, the ref blowed the whissle before the goal. Anyways was a great game and congratz to portugal i guess

Goalkeeper was poorly positioned. He then ran over to where Terry was standing in an attempt to get the ball, only problem was that Terry was there already and had his arms up getting ready to jump. Keeper walked under Terry's arm. Campbell jumps over Terry (his own player remember, therefore not a foul) and heads the ball in. A totally legitimate goal.

1st we played better. Apart from the goal. Owen(who is my favourite english player btw) only produced 1 more dangerous situation and that was in the 1st half. Becks was completely shut by the defender. Scholes was he actually in the game ? Great game from James, Terry, Sol and Ashley Cole.

Wait! i just praized the defenders. Thats just it. The best english in the pitch were the defenders cause you went for the result.

2nd we wanted to win more than the english did.

3rd inside the small area or whatever you call it in english, its the keepers domain and if 2 players are blocking him from the ball its a foul.

4th England fitness levels were %&#" . Portugal ran a lot more miles than you did.

5th Our substitutions were perfect. Provider for 1st goal plus Postiga and 2nd goal scorer Rui Costa came from the bench.

6th you didnt lose because of that. if england wanted to win it should have been Heskey in, instead of that other guy (vasey or whatever is his name.) We took out a lot of defenders to get the equalizer.

7th england didnt learn the lesson against France. No one has won defending a result so far. Either play to win till the last minute or risk losing.

FC PORTO won the champions league this season ´cause the coach and the team believed it aint over till the whistle ( as they proved it against Man U.) blows one last time.

Thats the mentality we portuguese have right now. That amazing run winning the UEFA cup last year and the champs this year has inspired every player in this country. It showed the rest that it doesnt matter if you dont have the biggest budget or you dont have ronaldo or zidane or Van Nistelrooy. If your team doesnt have soul it wont make it.

We believed we could do it. Sven didnt believe you could.

You have so damn right. But they are not cowards. They do just what their coach says. If England had played offensive yesterday she would have won the game easily.

PS:The goal that was canceled it was foul. The player grabed the goalkeeper and he didint let him jump. No reason to complaign about that one.

shit tactics asside if england had a PROPER captain during that 2nd half they would not of conceeded, BEckham is NOT a fucking captain, can you imagine the rage and fury Tony Adams wouldve unleashed after the way england started to play after they got 1 up? whats beckham do? "leading by example dont work"

oh and seems the english TV didnt show anything about that portuguese goal that was not. The ball had completely passed the line when Cole kicks it out! So it's a goal.

eh? he was our best midfielder last night. was the only midfielder who

a. was passing ball to feet (long, high balls dont work when your 2 short arse center forwards are up against 6 foot defenders)

b. actually passed to white shirts and not red shirts

No, but 100% of the english footballteam obviously are. You lost 1-0 against France on overtime (which I laughed alot about), wtf made you think you would be able to keep 1-0 against Portugal for 87 minutes + overtime?
mabye the fact that the real score before extratime was 2-1 england

Dear poor blind fan (A.K.A. Marc)

i just took this from bbc.co.uk

"The swiftness of England's opener meant it was unlikely that the game would settle down and Portugal pressed for the equaliser.

Sven-Goran Eriksson's men made life difficult for themselves by giving away possession regularly, with Paul Scholes and Lampard guilty of failing to make the simple pass. "

"Time and again they failed to close down Portugal and England were lucky to go into the break with their lead in tact."

"Shortly after the interval, Eriksson replaced the ineffective Scholes with Phil Neville to nullify playmaker Deco. "

If the real score as 2-1 for England, why is Portugal still in the tournament while England aint? I thought the winners advanced to next round tbh.

Well im sorry, but you and the BBC website must of watched a different match to me. Gerrard was knackered after 20 mins, beckham was so so, lampard was FUCKING SHITE and as i said for me, scholes was our best player, but alas, shows how much you know about football when you have to base your assumptions and arguments on what you are told by the BBC website and if you actually watched the game you would of heard the commentators saying the exact same thing that they didnt think Scholes should of been substituted as he was our best player. So kindly fuck off calling me blind ok

Once again you show how little you know about football. That isnt scholes's or beckhams job. If all 4 midfielders are constantly back tracking to sit just in front of the defence, then expected to counter attack at every oppurtunity, they aint gonna last 90 minutes. Paul scholes and David Beckham are NOT holding midfielders, that role belongs Steven Gerard, Nicky Butt (when playing) and to a certain degree Frank Lampard. And owen seserves to play with a better squad? You could also say the same for 10 england players wanting to play with a better striker than owen.
