we tried a high supp rm but like VF said good grps insta cure it.
It was useful vs zergs tho for disabling the bolt rangers
And for those saying alb never had a nearsighter.. matter spec cabby
the crap about using a gimp line applies the same to rm's

We have run alot groups in the past few months(way before patch) with 2 fire wizards and we seem to do ok with them. It's not a amazing class by any stretch of the imagination but with a 50% fire debuff(from body sorc) they hurt. Fire wizzies only get the grey or green con nearsight so nothing to write home about and if your on TS/Vent with a good cure nearsighter then it's no biggy. Basically it's not a crap class but not a good class either, it certainly will not unbalance RvR in any way.

low level nearsight on a bainshee.....
while im waiting to get cured, i just sit there interrupting, cant say its changed the game tbh.

albs will now have the chance of generalyl having 2 nearsighters in group. 1 nearsighter is enough (if they can actually play their class and nearsight people)

2 nearsighters is a waste of utility, firewiz imho is not a viable class still in a GOOD set rvr group.

Wizard = crappy nearsight, 2-3 bolt, dd

hardly what id call utility class:)

Ns is a huge improvement. You can stop multiple incoming casters in their tracks and start nuking on them first before you get insta interrupted or stunned or even mezzed.
Even if the nearsight will get cured in a matter of seconds, those few seconds are enough to force the all important initiative.

Nearsighting cabalists are insdispensible in groups just for that. But there aren't enough of those around. Now at least the role can be taken up by a wizard.

Earth wizard: red nearsight, 3 bolts, snaring dd (no, determination doesn't help), aoe snare nuke, aoe dot
Bit less damage than a fire wiz (500-550 vs 650-700 dam) but quite reasonable utility I would say.

i think it was a mistake to put a debuff on the ns but other than that wizards at least can do similar dmg to cabbys now. but ofc... it isnt a lifetap, so still 100% dependant on good healers (and uninterrupted healers).

Yes it has changed RVR ALOT to the WORSE but it hasnt changed GrouprRvR much...

Hmm...im guessing the word you were looking for was: GROUP RvR ?

For serg rvr its devostating.
Realm with longest range, most damage gets Nearsight on a class thats basically only used for serg. Its making all rvr except for stealther/group rvr suck bigtime for all but the albs. Why ooooh dear god why didnt they just give them one of the gzillion things that would have made them more grouperfriendly instead.

ps. I just dont understand the way Mythic thinks, or more to the point, the way mythic doesnt seem to think...ds.

dont zerg and find a grp then mayhaps?

Mids don't do groups unless personally know the player, they far too elitist to do otherwise :X

They turned into pre NF hibs.

its not that black and white either. coordinating nearsight with a good push or interrupt on those who can cure it is very good. but randomly spamming it like a moron as all wizards bar none seem to do currently is very worthless, yes :p

lol

Suppression runie however is significantly better than a matter cabby, nukes are energy too when nobody has energy resists (particularly hibs) who sometimes even run without a warden. Also got PBT (6 sec) which isnt anything to laugh at.

Just a question, does matter cabby nuke for crap ? (Serious question, I have no idea what they nuke for. But atleast resists are okay since both hibs and mids basically leave matter out of the resists in templates)

A suppression runemaster is only there for pbt and red nearsight. They dont do any damage what so ever (well that might be abit of an understatement but its close to beeing true).

They are just not viable in any setup basically, because they get to be a low damage class.

/Charmangle

ps. Would just love for the suppression line to be more viable...darnit I want my rm as Supp...but but but...the 26 in supp will have to be enough atleast you get the low lvl nearsight as firewizzes get...now just give me same damage on bolts and higher nuke damage too!:) ds.

supp runey has a spec nuke/snare (ok so it's slow casting) - matter cabalist has just got dots (baseline whinetap of course but if they're a matter cabbie they're low spec in body and have no debuffs)

they should make the supp runey dd/snare 2.8s casting like the earth wiz one.

It certainly has changed quite a bit. There's a lot more wizards around now, and I get chain NS'd a lot. It's really quite annoying. :/

A wizard with 10% range in his suit (not a hard thing to do), gets a 2520 range Nearsight spell, coupled with that debuff. There is nothing to do to get rid of except rely on your group (which hunters rarely to never get), or sit on your ass for 2 min to wait for it to pass.

By adding NS to wizards, they just made the final caster class that I could attack with some reliability untouchable. At this point it's safe to say that any caster that loses to a bow archer is better off playing monopoly.

The deck really can't be stacked much further in favour of casters.

Yeh, and I do get solo kills, though you won't believe it.

So stop whining, and read the message for the information it contains instead of your whinefilter that immediately slams shut just because I posted it. :)

dunno why you quoted me, im completely missing your point. nearsight has to be used careful and spamming it on targets 2k away is useless if you aren't going to push

Well all i see is a whine from someone who spends all his time zerging and popping solo steathers infront of zergs so forgive me if im a little bitter. Wizards needed an improvent and they got one which is very minor indeed....

Ho ho, Tesla is moaning about being nearsighted, Its kinda good that a wizzard can now deal with adds during fights etc, Perfect example, Ns an adding ranger/hunter and its fucked basically.

I aint playing but the improvement sounds decent!

Matter Cabalists have no specline nuke, they basically only get a spec DoT and an AE DoT over other Cabalists (as well as the important nearsight). Few people die of DoTs these days, be they matter damage or not.

Yep got that...basically they do what runies do then...get high in damage spec and go low but useful in ns specline. Both suck when high in ns specline ?

Anyway when that is the case im not sure why wizzes gets the nearsight too...shouldnt that mean that another mid/hib caster should have a standard castable nearsight too ? Or that it was removed from cabas ?

/Charmangle

ps. Well there is one dot that kill hordes with people...and its only albs who have it!:/ Monsterress dot is horrible. Especially that it just keep comming back...without any heals (as is usual in a serg) 1-1.5 of those dots take out casters) ds.

Dunno what you mean with 'standard' but warlocks and bainshees get nearsight too.

It really is bad if you'r Bowspecced, the NS castspeed is so fast also that I am able to NS if a scout or whatever shoots me between his arrows, when playing my Eldritch that is.

So if I get an arrow on me.. last attacker, Face, and just spam NS abit and then the archer is helpless ;D

Still I wouldent mind that much if the timer was shorter, it's way to long right now tbh.

Some people have to base their arguments on how others play, and thats just silly.
