Question about Rain of Fire Rain of Ice etc

Im saveing up for PF @ the moment so got a few spare points to spend before i respec into PF. Just got a few questions about the Rain abilities (fire,ice,annilation) 15 min timer. I know they are effected by resists etc but just wondered.

1) How long the duration is ..
2) If they stack .. can u use fire ice etc @ the same time.

Just want a few more icons to crowd up me quickbar ..

Fadeh said it's quite nice but they seem a bit costly, you really need rr10 to be the perfect merc with all balanced and active ra's :(

Those are the main ones you want trust me :) (yeah i know i haven't got IP but shhh :p )

Other good ones are perhaps aug str 2 if you are slash/crush specced, gives 48 ws which can help i guess, master of parry 2 for solo/pve, dodger 2 for solo/pve and aug con 1 toughness 1 can't hurt for the costs either.In the end Pain 3, dr 3, dodger 2, parry 1/2 could be a real nice merc with IP if possible(probably need rr10+)

It's on 15min timer and 1min by the way the ra you mentioned.

2) no, but seperate timers iirc ( not completely sure about the timer part )

Ive been looking in to it as I thought Rain of Ice and an Ice based weapon that can debuff its self and the damage add would be good. Its 15min timer, lasts 1 min and adds 10% per lvl of your base damage as a damage add. Not sure of its worth it. Maybe at higher RR like Matt said.

Edit: It stacks with theurg DA but the Rain of xxxxx dont stack with each other.

I was never to keen on dualist reflexes tbh .. 10 Points is alot for an extra 9% chance of unstyled damage .. Its been in Merc RP templates since the start as a way of increaseing damage output (rain ability was bugged broken for a while i belive).. but for 9 Points a 20% increase of damage (-resists) for 1 minute @ the press of a button seems pretty tempting.

Unbuffed i land DS on RR5 merc for around 210 damage mainhand and 75 offhand

So with a 20% bonus thats and extra 42 damage on main hand and 15 offhand so 57 total..

The - resists of 26% say and that cancels out offhand dam add..

But the harder u hit the more damage u gonna get back ..

Fully buffed @ RR9 Sycho u gonna hit alot harder than me what do u recon the bonus damage would be for u ?

Well i got:

Aug str 2
Aug dex 2
Determination 5
PF
Purge
Mastery Of Pain 4
Dualist Reflexes 3
Master Of Parrying 2

Dualist reflexes give 9% more unstyled damage BUT! also 9% more faster hits due to dual swinging more and pf has more chance to procc, lv2 is enough maybe but i prefer to have 3.

Maybe not everyone's cup of tea but they suit me fine, might try that ra though..

Also garok, you saracen thrust if i remember, go for 3.9+2.4 new weaps you will hit very good damage with that ra.

Damage difference between low and high realm rank isnt enormous. I'd take a stab at around 15% difference between a RR3 Mercenary and a RR10 Mercenary using standard RA templates. And maybe 10% between RR5 and RR10.

Every level of MoPain adds 1.25% damage overall.
Hard for me to calculate Dualist Reflexes, but poeple seem to rate it around the same level as MoPain when selecting RA's...
Augstr adds some damage, so does every time you increase realm rank and get one more +. But I don't have the numbers to calculate that efficiently.

Easiest way would be to access some exact numbers seeing how weaponskill affects damage.

+ to Dual Wield can be calulated same way as DR...

Agreed Ilum but the 210 damage is from me unbuffed with capped trust and 210 base dex .. With a Rain abilty @ lv 2 i would get roughly extra 42 damage
per hit .. not sure if u get a bonus on Crit hits which is were the MOPain damage comes in (would need testing). I was wondering what kind of damage Sycho would do with all Possble bonuses to WS Via TOP Lv Buffs and bonuses to weapon type . My guess would be around the 330-350 mark.
(correct me if im wrong :) )

So 20% of 340 say is extra damage of .. 68 per swing ..
Seems a nice increase tbh ..

If 3 mercs hitting around around the 300 mark all Pop ROA and are swinging close to cap speed of 1.5 thats an extra 816 hits every 6 secs..

Im no RvR expert but i guess it a numbers battles the quicker u can take down you opponents the more of an advantage uve got ..

PS Im no maths expert so shout if the figgers Look dodgy ;)

Rain ra's dont add 10%,20%,30%. Maybe more like 5%,10%,15%. At level 2 it might add 20-30dmg. That is if i hit with both weapons. Its ok, but no uber ra. And i wouldnt think about getting it before rr10, way to costly then imo. I have now also respecced it away.

Why don't mercs rate Mastery of Arms?

The cost is high for something like MoA3, but with haste buffs and the duel-weild effect you'll be hitting pretty fast... Depending on if MoA is working now and if all of those effects stack.

Sometimes even worse :/

During less than a minute, the added damage was in total: 85 dmg, although I didn't log during the full 1 minute, and I did let her heal up when needed.
Worth 3 RSP? Up to you to decide. Wouldn't recommend it for a Merc, but that's just my opinion :)

It lowers styled dmg cap :/ i respecced out of it too.

Just get 25% ToA haste if you can.

i dont think its broken, but it dosnt add 10% of styled damage, only 10% of unstyled damage
