I'd rather not be another oil wealth money (getting A-rab money) club.

No one else can afford the price set and we need to be rid of the Glazers and that debt mountain before it matures or we are sunk.

LOL what is the big issue with being bought out by anyone? If it secures the long term future of the club and at the same time allows you to compete, when it comes to the big signings, even better surely.

Or is it beacuse of all the abuse that has been heaped on City fans make it harder for you to seem to like the idea?:flame:

The sad part for me as a lifelong United fan is that the club generates more than enough profit to drive the club foward and compete at the highest level without a sugardaddy. We are currently saddled with owners who have no money but are also taking massive amounts out of the club to make interest repayments on loans secured against the club I love. If the Qatar Royal Family buy into the club then all of a sudden we are cash rich but we just become a plaything of some faceless billionaires. Either way is not ideal if you are a real United fan.

That said, I will take the second option because it at least secures our near and medium term future as well as helping us to remain a top 5 club in world terms.

The sad part....

Nothing sad about it and why would they be faceless? Is Abramovich faceless or was he bad for Chelsea? Nothing wrong with people buyiing up football clubs and giving support, where it is needed.

As much as you think Man U are a huge club and can generate enough money to compete, i would sugest you are wrong. Money certainly helps, ask Blackburn, ask Chelsea, ask anyone for that matter.

You never know the guy that is buying the club - if the runour proves to be true ofc - might be a die hard Man U fan himself.

like the glazers? they brought financial security ;) Big signings will mean fuck all if the club can't spend within their means in a couple seasons in wages n shit.

The Russian is the exception to the rule to be fair, will the Royal Family be at Old Trafford for every home game and travel to many away games? Unlikely. As for giving support, we don't need it and we never did, United turns in consistently huge profits. If we were not saddled with the Glazers debt we would be more cash rich than an self sustaining club out there.

If you want figures I can supply them Tierk, United have consistently been heavily in profit for the best part of two decades bud. No other major side in the world can claim that, NONE!

If he is a United fan, good on him. Him buying us gets the club out of a big American made mess and I will thank him for it, if he supports us properly and not just with cash then I will be really grateful. Time will tell but I am not anti-Qatar by any stretch of the imagination, I am just worried about the future club I love which any football fan should understand.

Sorry but anyone with a biscuit for a brain saw those guys coming. As for spending within their own means, lets just see how that will pan out shall we?

The Glazers brought nothing but loans and leveraged debt, it is the American way. Don't buy, get your customers to buy it for you.

I've not got time to post properly, I disagree with everything you've said tierk. You seem to have no idea about football at all - and please, you quoted Blackburn as an example? Fuck me, what a joke.

Roman has fiddled lots with Chelsea, and he lost them their biggest fish - Jose, because of it.

LOL nothing new here :p

I am guessing you were not around in the time of Jack Walker and Dalglish bringing home the PL to Blackburn.

Just to remind you of those days...

wiki said:
The 1994–95 season saw Dalglish again break the transfer record, paying Norwich City £5 million for Chris Sutton who along with Shearer formed a formidable striking partnership. He had now spent over £27 million putting together a squad that could make a serious challenge for the Premier League Championship.

Just to put you in the picture. Cantona went to United for 1.2million in those days.

You are a ManU fan right? Probably why you have blanked out Blackburn Rovers from your memory. They won the league on the last day of the season despite losing the final game of the season at LFC. How did this travesty happen.....

But yea i am idiot that doesn't know anything about football.

The Russian..........

I do not dispute with you that ManU is a great club in terms of finance and i know that they have always been profitable - until the current owners showed up. However, i can never see any English club, Man U included, being able to spend 150 million on players - Man Shitty excluded.

I cant see it being anything but a win win situation for fans, the manager and the club as a whole. Regardless if it is a Qatari or a Martian it is all in how it is done but a few bob never goes amiss.

You know we have a £100 million cash warchest right? We aren't spending because we are being cautious and there is not good value at the end of the market we are looking to buy from.

Can /will United spend 80 million on a player?

Why do they need too?

If anything having more money as a club man City/Chelsea just inflates prices to silly amounts no where near the true value.

Look at some of the good deals done in the summer Ozil/Villa good players bought for a sensible amount of cash. Players of the value of 80 million are few and far between, Ronaldo was only purchased for that fee because RM knew that buying him would be covered straight away by the fans.

Ferguson has always spent a large sum on individuals, Rooney, Ferdinand, Veron and Berbatov to name a few.

The Glazers have continued to back Fergie so I can have no complaints because everything is ticking along nicely, we are investing in young talent as always and as usual will fill major gaps with a big signing, if they fit the bill.

We are sat top of the league despite a very average start (performance wise) to the season, We've been missing a player who scored the majority of our goals last year in Rooney and our best winger from last year Valencia.

Why on earth at this moment in time does Ferguson need to go out and spend 100 million?
