that netgraph is actually one someone i know had once... i've had just as bad too, but never saved it for anti-ntl propaganda :)

i'm guessing the model and bg was a render in 3dsmax
not sure about the text
but everything else can be done with layering in PS :)

Probably more likely that the model is from a Q3 model viewer, imo...

The text is just a series of PS filters, commonly referred to as a "Quicksilver" effect, there's loads of tutorials on how to do it.

model could be a screenshot too
but jusdging by the bg and lighting i'd say it's not from a model viewer
none i've seen anyway (the fact i haven't been near the q3 scene in over a year may be a factor here)

Nope just a strategically set up Q3 screenshot, overlayed with a quickly knocked up grid. The RA3 logo is taken directly from the RA3 pk3 file, manipulated and selectively erased and overlayed into the grid.

The silver RA3 text isn't an "effect" (or an "action" I think you mean), it's done by hand - heavily embossed text, with an overlay of black & white streaks painted on, then with some very heavy curves adjustments etc, then desaturated and placed into the image.

The screenshot itself was duplicated, blurred, overlayed and had a gradient applied, along with selective removal of the blur effect in areas.

At least I think that's how I did it all, been ages since I did it mind :)

Photoshop is the daddy, im offended that you could ever think it comparable to Paintshop Pro. Never have chance these days to do more creative work, im usually churning out websites. I'm inspired to go and create ub3r gh4y summo pics now tho.
