Problems with sound on q3 v1.31

Hi.

After installing quake 3 v1.31 from v1.30 my sound has become very weird, it is out of sync and very crackily, the sound was fine on 1.30. My sound card is via technologies and have the latest driver. Anyone having the same problem, know how to fix it?

p.s I uninstalled quake 3 to try to fix problem can i update straight to v1.31 from v1.1 by downloading the 26 meg file point release of v1.31?

try these in yer config:

seta s_musicvolume "0"
seta s_separation "0.5"
seta s_doppler "0"
seta s_khz "22"
seta s_mixahead "0.2"
seta s_mixPreStep "0.05"

From what you describe it sounds as though your s_mixahead setting is too low.

As CA said, return it to the default 0.2, that should help.

i tried changing the settings to default but nothing helped, i then tried changing them to see if anything happened but stayed the same. any other commands that could help fix the sound?

yes you can and try these settings:

seta com_soundMegs "8"
seta com_zoneMegs "16"
